MY CAR WONT START, IVE TESTED MY ALTERNATOR, REPLACED MY STARTER.. IM NOT SURE WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT IT COULD EITHER BE THE IGNITION COIL OR THE IGNITION MODULE.. I CAN TURN IN ON IF THE INGITION IS COOL AND DRIVE ANYWHERE I NEED TO GO, ONCE I TURN OFF MY CAR IT WONT START AGAIN UNTIL THE IGNITION HAS COOLED OFF AGAIN. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS? ITS HARD TRYING TO FIX MY CAR, BEING A WOMAN EVERYONE TELLS ME SOMETHING ELSE DIFFFERENT AND I END UP GETTING RIPPED OFF
I understand, but you must realize without some testing people are just giving you their best guess, based on their own past experience or knowing the "most probable cause" of this condition of not starting when engine has warmed up.
Have you checked for any trouble codes? This is a free service at Autozone and other parts stores. It is very possible there will be no codes that were set from this condition, but it wouldn't hurt to check. Post any codes here for explanations and possible fixes.
Yes, it could be the ignition module. Often when they fail, it is because the internal circuit is affected by heat, and it won't work again until it has cooled off. But a couple of sensors that affect the ignition system can act the very same way. One is the Crankshaft position sensor (CKP sensor), and the other (less likely) is the camshaft position sensor. I will say something about the ignition coil in a second, but in your case, if you cannot afford a mechanic to look at it and run some rather basic tests, check the prices of the ignition module and the crank position sensor. Maybe you could try the cheapest one first.
Now about the ignition coil: when they fail, they may act the same way- not working after they get hot. If you have the 4 cylinder engine, you have a single coil, so it might be a good idea to try another coil. Don't know about Acuras, but usually coils are quite inexpensive-less than $20 for many, some may go up to about $25. And that might be your best path forward, try the cheap part first. But if you have the v-6 model, you have a coil for each spark plug-6 coils- and the likelihood of more than one failure is quite remote.
I hope I have helped you a little. It is always best to test for problems, but I have given you some direction if you cannot have any testing done. BTW, if you have a multi-meter, post back and I can give you some basic tests of the ignition coil to see if it shows any fault.
Starter bendix. Some are on the starter (GM), some are separate (Ford). Are you going to turn the wrenches yourself, as it sounds. Do you need a boyfriend, just teasing. Acura apparently uses a bendix mounted above with the starter, make sure that the wire connections are good and tight. Corrosion (green or white caked on powder) is not good. It takes metric wrenches if you aer that handy.

If you heard a click when you cranked it, that's usually a dead battery. But, you need to check the oil level. I've had 2 RSX's that jumped time because the oil level dropped too low.
The tensioner on the timing chain is hydraulically controlled, if the oil level drops the tensioner looses tension and the chain jumps time. Its an extensive and expensive repair.

BAD starter... again. This very common with some after market re-builders. However before you remove starter make sure that battery is NOT corroded at terminals and terminals are all tight and secured. Also make sure battery is FULLY charged or get a boost while trying to start vehicle if you still get the "CLICK". Then you Need yet another starter. Good luck and contact if you nee more help. Thanks for using FIX YA
