Engine stalling issue at low speeds

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

Lately my BMW Z3 Roadster will stall at traffic lights. It has even stalled when I am driving very slow. Sometimes the engine shudders when idle. I have also experienced the engine stalling for a second...

What have you checked, if anything? Have you noticed anything strange about idling (higher or lower than normal)? It could be many things, from something as simple as a dirty air filter, not allowing in enough air to the engine, to something wrong with the fuel pump. A vacuum leak is another possibility.

My 1996 nissan 200sx idles when i come to a complete stop. what is wrong?

I dont mean to be misunderstood, but your question is relating to an idling condition when you come to a complete stop.....as my understanding of idling, is that it is the term for when the engine is running at its most "relaxed" state, around 700-800 rpms, no acceleration, and this is what the engine SHOULD do when you come to a stop.........so this situation is normal.

Unless, however, you may have got confused with the terms........or forgot to put idles high or too low in the description...

03 ford explorer turn of at stop light idle goes down and turns off no power

Happens to mine when the engine is cold. Don't have a solution yet. It usually happens at the same set of lights near my house. Putting it in park at lights until the engine is warm on the temperature gauge sometimes helps. Sometimes the engine management light comes on which is annoying. The repair man says it has something to do with a bypass thing when the engine is idling but he changed it and it didn't make much difference! Not like the old days when a good battery was enough to make everything work!

Dies when idling, does better with a/c on, but still dies

this is your problem:

Here are the most common causes of surges, stalls at stops, low erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake
