Sounds like a vacume leak this can stop cold engine from starting. vacuum leaks can be hard to find, it could be just about anywhere. when you have engine running spray the easy start or carb cleaner around the vacume lines, note any engine sound changes. and that will be where the problem could be, say could as it could have more than one leak.

I realize it's a little late in this game but I had a similar problem with my 2003 TDI. Sometimes it just wouldn't start, Dealer came and picked it up once to replace the battery under warranty and did all sorts of diagnostics to no avail. My brother suggested the ignition switch, so I watched it for several weeks and sure enough, new switch under warranty, problem gone for 4 years now.

My vanette had exactly the same problem yesterday. The glow plugs have a timer and a relay. I think that if the light on the dash goes on and off as normal then its probably the relay not the timer. So I have replaced the relay (£50 nissan dealer only) which is located in the center console below the radio/heater controls. Until its really cold again tomorrow I wont know if its really cured it but I'm fairly certain that will be it.

Sounds like a faulty cold start assistor. On top of the engine you will find an aluminium housing with four things that look like glow plugs screwed into it. These 'glow plugs' are only available complete with the housing fron Vauxhall. Approx £70 +
Airbag light is probably a fault with the seatbelt pretensioner.
Check the wiring under the seats for damage or perhaps the plugs have pulled apart.
