SOURCE: dash lights

The dash is lit by one or more bulbs located on the edge of that clear plastic. You may be able to get to the lamp holder by reaching up behind the dash. If not there, then the dash will need to come off.

SOURCE: how to change bulb in bumpers on volvo v40

The amber lights in the bumper are a complete unit, (bulb cannot be removed without some or all of the amber light assembly) so unfortunatey you will have to go to your Volvo spare parts store & pick one up - front & back are different, as are left & right - check it. I paid €25 for a unit in Ireland.

Changing is a case of unscrewing as much of the bumper as you need to access it and clipping it out. It takes quite a bit of force to clip the new unit back.

Unfortunately I can't help about dash bulb.

No park lights or dash lights

Park light, check the bulbs themselves buy checking the headlights and see if the bulbs are burned out. But both can very well be fuses...they are located under the hood on the driver's side near the wheel well, and under the dash nearest to the door also the driver's side.

Which fuse should i change for my headlights ?

Look at your fuse panel board either under the dash board on drivers side or possibly under the hood depending on vehicle. It will tell u which fuse is for the headlights.

Or from the sounds of it... Possible head light bulb burnt out and not a fuse. A headlight fuse should not be popping or burning out. I would suggest looking at the filament on the bulb to see if intact. Replace broken head light bulb with working other working headlight to eliminate one possibility. If it works buy a new bulb. If it doesn't look at fuse panel.

How to replace dash light bulbs

I've done this before. You have to remove the cover for the gauges and speedometer, which is on a sort of a circuit board. The whole thing comes out in one piece, or did on the car I was working on. Then you just locate the burned out bulb, go buy a replacement, replace it and you're good to go, It's easier than you might think.

Dash board doesn't light up

remove dash to the bulb components (the layer of dash with only bulbs[looks complicated]) turn dash lights on and identify wich bulbs are not working, replace them with the correct bulbs. if this is unsuccesfull find the connection from the bulbs to the wire and also the connection from the wire to switch. ensure the components inside the connextions are clean(pull apart and check for rust, dust, dirt ect..) you can buy connection cleaner from most car orrientated shops.
