Car seems to run fine; what should I do?
I had the same issue...I went to Auto Zone and got a diagnostic...Came back that mt Throttle Position Sensor was faulty...However after taking it to the dealer, and paying 135.00 for their diagnostic...You can't simply buy the sensor. You have to buy a new Throttle Body at 902.00 + Tax. I hope it's not your problem, but go get a FREE diagnostic first.
I am in search for a reasonable Throttle Body for my car (2004 Jaguar XJR 4.2L Supercharge)
I know the part # (C2C20541).
Can anyone assist?
don't have to buy the whole throttle body . You can find the sensor and it will fix it. I did it on mine. The full job with sensor only cost me $150.00 and I have the same model as your

I had the same problem with my G35 05 after i forgot to close the cap, Usually the car will run for about 100 miles or so before the light goes away, but you can also, reset the ECU by checking this site http://www.6mt.net/forum/performance-mods/2833-easy-ecu-reset-procedures.html
Or what i did was pulling the fuses marked "Eng cont/inj, there is a 15A under the hood, in the fusebox near the battery, and a 10A in the driver-side interior fusebox - pull both. (As someone suggested in the same thread)it worked.

If you bring it back to the mechanic who last serviced it he will gladly reset it free of charge.

the only way to find out for sure why the check engine light is on is to have a repair shop hook up a scanner. But in the mean time you can check that your gas cap is on correctly. This is a very typical problem with newer cars. However your car is 8 years old and could have other problems.
