Hi ive just changed a stufed 93 subaru r.a gearbox with a 98 v5 sti one. but now when u stop boosting it feels like theres something binding up and slight vibration as i slow down?? there isnt any unusual noises. could anyone tel me what the problem is? gearbox to diff ratio?? v5 gearbox in great conditon. please help.

Hi there I have just the Summer working on a 93 impreza project and here is the deal the gear ratio for the axles from the Transaxle to the rear differeinal must match some times a .001 slower on the back is ok too. the dealers parts people need the #s on the Trans. and rear and year model etc. The rear on many of the Subarus has a type of limited slip in the carrier? so this can generate enough heat to start a fire in around 300 miles due to the way it is built, if the ratios are not matched, mine turned out to be a 3:90 rear and a 4:11 front on a all wheel drive and another rearend is in the mail now.
