My 2000 chevy impala's air intake & recirculate buttons on my heating & air unit come on at the same time when the car is turned on. The outdoor temperature display also does not read when you first turn on the car. After a couple of minutes everything will turn on and work properly. I have replaced the HVAC module twice & I am still having the same problem.

sending unit on fuel pump is bad, the sending unit shorts out gauge will go to empty or full, never read right, turn on switch ,it goes to full or empty, ,check the pump,hope this helps,thanks robert b.

It sounds like the blower resistor needs to be replaced and the blower motor it self. Auto Zone will have the blower and resistor that you need to replace and will have the step by step instructions for you to get the job done with common tools and will take about 2 hours if your good with tools. Good luck and keep me posted. Setting 5 should have 12 volts running to the blower motor so check the wire harness for voltage readings at the blower motor harness clip, you may only just need a new blower motor.
