Iveco Stralis 480 problem When reached full speed, and driving down hill and the truck go into "economy" i have a missing sound , no fault codes. Hope somebody can help

I do not understand what the "missing sound" means.

Do you mean hissing sound? It may be a vacuum leak and you can't hear it until the engine quiets down.

Could also be torque converter. But they usually hiss all the time when they start hissing.

WHAT WOULD THE PROBLEM BE IF YOUR CAR IS BACKFIRING AND MISSING?

Back fire can be caused by different faults.First is to much fuel because of worn carburetter, or wrong adjusments on carburetter. choke sticking will cause backfire. timing be out of adjustment will cause backfire exhaust leak can cause backfire. bad spark plugs, or plug leads , distributer cap worn of cracked will cause backfire as for fuel in muffler, if it combusted in muffler , the muffler would split open it is not that.

It make a hissing sound and then it shuts off

open the hood up and look for a missing vacuum port plug on the engine intake manifold, sounds like the case here, that would cause a really loud hissing noise.

I CAN HEAR A HISSING SOUND BY THE FUEL CAP AFTER I TURN OFF MY TRUCK

If you hear a hissing sound from the gas cap then the o ring that seals the tank is either cracked or tore. the tank has to build up pressure. thats where u r hearing the hissing sound replace it, it should stop after.

Engine is making hissing sound.

That hissing could be a vaccuum system leak, have youe tried pinpointing the sound from under the hood?

Heater switch only has hi speed

This was wrong with my 01 Stratus and it was the blower motor. Between the part and the labor to have it fixed, it was around $130.
