Just recently put a rebuilt engine in (engine is a 1989) car runs fine but today when driving it shuttered a bit but not bad, (thought it might be the road i was on). stopped and the car dies. will start right up and run just fine but when put in gear it dies. i "popped" the clutch so to speak and go it to go into gear for a little bit and then it done it again. (car in an automatic) any thoughts on what it may be.
Ive seen a bad alternator do the same thing
Yeah ..sound like the TCC solenoid is bad
Sounds like the lock up torque convertor in the transmission is stuck in the engaged position. There is a sensor switch under the hood that can be temporarily unpluged but leaving it unplugged can ruin the transmission. Take it to a tranny shop.
