Question about GMC Sierra
I have no left turn/brake light output from the trailer plugin. The running lights work for L and R sides. Then right turn/brake lights work fine. I've traced the problem all the way back to the connector under the hood where I still get the same result. The truck lights all work correctly even with the trailer on but no left side lights except for the running lights. Can you tell me the location of where the trailer wiring taps into the truck wiring?
You will need to get a 12 volt test light and check the trailer connector for a voltage signal to the trailer, it may also have seperate fuses under the hood for the trailer lights if the system is factory installed, federal law requires the 2 systems be isolated, if there are blown fuses find the short in the trailer before replacing fuse(s), with no exceptions the short is always in the trailer. Hint, check the fuses 1st.

Is this a 4 way or 6 way connection system? If your truck is wrong, then all factory equipped trailer package harnesses would be wrong, tell your trailer guy...I don't think so.
Is this the first trailer you have hauled?
Let me know, and we will go from there.

if your vehicle lights are working all the fuses will be good. follow the cable from the towing socket on your vehicle , it will most likely go behind one of the rear lights to connect into your cars system,
check your tester where the cables join and you should find the problem. hope this helps.

Did yo check the fuse panel inside the truck its located on the drivers side dash , you have to open the driver side door, in there is a 10 amp fuse that is linked to rt trailer brakes and rt turn signal for the trailer, if the fuse is good there is a black box under the dash located on the floor on the driver side, just to the left of the break, thats where must of the plug in wire harness is for the trailer breaks!
