Interior light switch creating short on cluster

ALL FUSES GOOD
SCAN THE PCM SEE ERRORS?> OOPS?
car drive great day and night and outside park amps all work. and heads too.
you do know that many cars this is user DIY programmable.
i can set mine all 5 door open and not one inside lamp goes on, (and that is what I have) and never dead battery me ever.
so local knob lamps on works. inside, i guess at dome lamps actual have a switch>? yes.
lets focus on door jam switches dead.
you read the lost glove box users guide on all this first, a free book from dodge.

the cluster brain runs all lamps inside car
8 lamps
the pin C3 p11 is courtesy lamp driver wire. 1 one wire.
YL/OR color coded wire. (this wire is CUT?)
at a dome lamp if you flip it switch, A TO B
IT GOES TO THE GLOVE BOX POWER FEED.
i bet this confuses you, that there are 2 dome feeds
1 from cluster and 1 from glove feed.
the dome switch just picks one of two feeds

SO I BET GLOVE BOX LAMP DOES WORK AND NO TOLD.
SO MY GUESS IS CLUSTER BRAIN BAD OR JUST CONFUSEd, OR PROGRAMMED WRONG.?
no way 5 doors fail. to cluster.
now way all lamps shorted, it works in some ways.

"Vehicles Equipped With Power Door Locks (THEY DO WORK CORRECTLY ,RIGHT?)

All interior lights will illuminate in the vehicle when the
doors are unlocked using the key fob
The interior lights will remain on for 30 seconds after the
last door is closed, or until all doors are closed and either
the ignition is turned to the ON position or a key fob
LOCK button is pressed.
There is also a battery saver feature that will turn the
interior lights off after 8 minutes if the ignition is OFF
and a door is left open or the dimmer control is in the
interior lights ON position."


IS THIS CONFUSING , THIS IS NO 1980 CAR.
THE CLUSTER BRAIN RUNS THE SHOW.

SEEMS TO ME THE DASH SWITCH IS BAD AND ALL DOOR SWITCHES TO CLUSTER ARE BAD
HOW CAN THAT BE>???????

IF LEVEL HL SWITCH BELOW IS GOOD
THEN ONE LAMP OF THE 8_+ SHORTED WILL CAUSE THEM ALL TO FAIL BUT THIS IS NOT THE CASE.

2ND FROM TOP IS DOME.
WHAT PARADE IS , all lamps full bight for driving day time head lamps turned on. mode.
ALL DOOR LOCK AJAR SWITCHES GO TO THE CLUSTER BRAIN.
RESET THE CLUSTER WITH FUSE PULLED
J/B f9 AND f10
AND MIP F27
PULLED FOR 15MIN AND PUT BACK, ALL.
THIS MAY RESET THE CLUSTER. brain.

some features here are only activated by a dealer on request. best is tell them what's up and get 10x better advice, for sure custom needs by you. below shows they saying so. and is a free manual to read.

check ACC. fuse

Twilight feature is used by the BCM to turn on the headlights when light levels diminish. Dash, cluster lighting is controlled by a rheostat near the headlight switch. The rheostat is rolled up for brighter lights. If this does not work the interior module may have burned out or the rheostat may be bad. If interior lights come on when rheostat is rolled fully up it most likely is OK. Interior lighting module is located above the headlight switch beside the cluster on the left side.

Check for power to the light switch. If no power, trace wiring from fuse panel to switch. If there is power, then it could be your switch that is bad.

turn on the lights & switch, smack the top of the dash a couple times.
if the light comes on..then you have a loose bulb in the back of the panel,
if not, the bulb is bad, consisting of removeing the cover for the instrument
cluster, removing the speedo head to get to the back side for bulb replacement..( make sure to disconnect the Battery before performing

Probably a break inside wiring loom of one/more of the three wires that eventually connect to the speed sensor on top of gearbox. The break I fixed in my 2003 Leon 1.6SX was in the loom under battery tray. My symptoms were no speedo working, and erratic fuel guage (particulary when under 1/2 full). I repaired one broken wire.

Check The Interior Fuse Box For A Blown Fuse for cig lighter possibly connections to sensors on motor etc ,!!
Also Might Be Cluster Issues is There Any other lights on?
Is It A Short in wiring? Ground issues again cluster connection? please give more info!!

my friend you have the very popular caravan cluster problem.you are going to need an entire cluster to make this one go away.a good do it yourself job if you enjoy that kind of work.

try your dimmer switch on the instrument cluster. that unit is just a variable resistor and they are a comman failure. by sliding your instrument cluster out you can gain access to the dimmer switch from the rear of the cluster(just be careful of your oil pressure line that attatches to the back of the oil gauge because if it is damaged it will squirt oil all over your interior when the vehicle is started. good luck
