I think after replacing every fuse and electrical sensor in the car, that the Coil Ignition Tumbler is bad. After sitting for two months and the battery going dead, it will start, then immediately die. I have also left the ignition in the "On" position for 30 minutes to "reprogram", and have had it checked for codes...it does connect to the computer, runs the analysis, the everything is "Pass". And yes, it is full of gas, and I even bought a new battery. ANY help would be appreciated! Thanks! A Bankrupt Momma

i thought there was a switch under the dash to stop it working, they usally come out at 70mph.have you got any faults with the dash gauges reading funny,i/e fuel gauge going down round corners etc ?
SOURCE: rear spoiler does not work.
The rear spoiler is controlled by a Rear Spoiler Control Module. Fuse 35 (30A) and Fuse 5 (7.5A) located in the fuse panel behind left side of dash provide power to the control module. After ensuring that the fuses are good, I would toggle the Rear Spoiler Switch to see if the servo-motor works properly. It is located under the steering wheel underneath the flat part of the dash.

just clean and tighten your battery terminal connections, both positive and negative poles.

Did you find the problem? My 2003 new Beetle started doing the same after it was flooded, it will die immediately after start, the only dashboard lights that come up are the battery and the rear spoiler ones, but the car didn't get a rear spoiler either. Looks like your case except I can't read codes from the ECU, looks like there's no connection to the ECU at all.
