I have a 98 silverado 5.7 runs but skips at idle when in geat whole truck jerks i replace dis.cap, roto button, plugs, wires,fuel filter and tps help me please

I would have the DIS module checked, most all national parts store chains can check them for free. If the DIS checks good, I would have the catalytic converter checked.

Have you changed plugs and plug wires lately. Sounds like misfire, possible ! Should also check fuel pressure , plugged fuel filter or weak fuel pump ! Mass air flow sensor dirty, or map sensor .What engine do you have and does yours have How to replace the spider injector on Cheyv motor 4 3 or 5 7 liter

is your distributor still using contact point? if yes, have it cleaned or replaced. also, replace the condenser attached in the distributor.

have you replaced also the distributor rotor?

remove your plugs and see if at least one contains oil.

Make sure your plugs are tight. I had same thing happen when a plug wiggled loose.

Check the following:
Cooling system working properly including fans.
Under hood fuel lines touching coolant or heater hoses.
Fuel lines under vehicle close to or not shielded from exhaust pipe, converter, muffler.
Fuel filter changed recently.
Fuel pump pressure.
Cheap gas.

I assume you are running the A/C. Which makes underhood temps higher. So what are your volts at the battery with everything running when this "skipping" occurs. Could be the alternator volts and/or amp output has decreased with age. This would cause the fuel pump to run a bit slower, reducing fuel pressure. Which could lead to fuel boiling somewhere in high heat areas. Do you have any other electrical loads like large stereo amps, fog/driving lights etc.

replace the electric part of the ignition down on the steering colum ....u will have to drop the steering colum down but not totaly remove...fixed 2 s-10 trucks same year that way

Check the DIS module or injectors. Check to make sure you have a spark on each cylinder. One cylinder could be misfiring

this might be fuel injections clogged up try getting the injectors cleaned out and hope that works

HAVE YOUR EXHAUST CONVERTER CHECKED! IF IT'S BAD AND YOU HAVE IT REPLACED, DON'T LET THE ONE THAT REPLACE'S IT TAKE YOUR OLD ONE!!!!! IT'S WORTH ABOUT $250.00
