Question about Chevrolet K2500

I have a 93 gmc 4x4 it keeps blowing the fuse for the 4 wheel drive when i put power to it

Try this,on the front axle there is an actuator for the 4x4,unplug it and try to engage 4x4 with it unplugged,if the fuse doesn't blow,actuator is bad.
Also look at the wires going to the actuator they get damaged from brush and things.

SOURCE: Blowing 4x4 Fuse, when put into 4 wheel drive

you may have a bad frt diff seliniod, try unpluging seleniod and putting into 4wd, if fuse doesnt blow then you know its the seleniod.also take a look at the wiring at the transfer case for any chafed wires,some of these trucks use vaccum also to operate 4wd check the vacuum switches for shorts,ive enclosed a wiring diagram to help you ,hope this helps ,good luck.

Often lights under a dash or indicators just blow out bulbs. If more than one thing isn't lighting and are centralized check fuses to see if its blown. Bulb or fuse. IMHO. MIGHT be a sensor on tranny too. Hope not.

My 1993 GMC sierra 4x4 kepps blowing fuses when I try to engage it

Unplug the front axle actuator. Replace the fuse. Put in four wheel drive. Did the fuse blow? If not replace the front axle actuator.

Blows heater fuse when trying to engaging 4 wheel high. Plus no drive lights lighting up on shifted panel on floor when in 2 or 4 wheel drive

Check connections and the switch on the 4X4, it obviously is powered by the heater fuse and nothing will work if the fuses are blowing cutting power to the whole system

Try unplugging the front axle actuator (at the front differential). If the fuse stops blowing, you have a short inside the actuator.

Have you inspected the wires where they go into the transmission and follow them seeking to find the short?

My 1999 4x4 gmc yukon is stuck in 4 wheel drive. There seems to be no power to the 4 wheel drive swtch. The lights do not work on the swtch either. Do you have any suggestions?

Im having the same issue with my 96 yukon. did you figure out the problem??

93 gmc 4x4 1500. my heater is not blowing out hot air and i have replaced both ther heater cor and the fan in my truck and its stilll not working, is their somthing that im missing if so can you help me so...

4x4 will not engage in 96 gmc yukon

I just fixed a friend of mines 96 yukon...shift to neutral press 4H and u can hear the actuator make noise (we even replaced it with a new one his idea and the same thing happen as old one), so as he hit the switch for 4H i layed under it (on 4 jack stands) and I could hear the motor on the transfer case make a loud noise (well thats working) and before all this I asked him did u check all your fuses (he said guarnteed to be all good) one night it was bothering me so i looked through the owner manual for the yukon and in the fuse box on driver side by the door there are (2) fuse for the 4wheel drive unit,pull one of the fuses good...pulled the other one and it was blown put in a new fuse and it works like brand new..pull fuse for anything that has to do with 4 wheel drive componants,
