Chevy Express van problem starting at various temps.

Code reader does not indicate replacing ECT sensor, but it seems that may be the problem. Van starts (cold first start) on single try only at certain temp. Otherwise, depending on the temp that moment, it requires anywhere from 2 to 10 turnovers to start. Once started, runs well (but sometimes has raw gas odor). The number of required turnovers seems very consistant with engine temps.

If it is the ECT sensor, I can't seem to locate where it goes so I can replace it.

Thanks, John

1999 chevy 1500 express van, trys to start but stops, the fuel pump is new, i think it is electrical.

Has your Check Engine or Service Engine Soon light come on? If so, there is a code stored in your van's onboard computer. Have that code read and interpreted at any large auto parts store, and either arrange to have the problem repaired or repost with the code number. If no code is present, we have a whole new ball game.

I'm getting code po894 for my 09 chevy express van 6.0L. Engine light is on and transmission jerks when going from 1st to 2nd gear, but only when engine warms up a little. Doesn't happen when

This one could be any of them. If you tackle this yourself start with the cheapest and move to the most expensive. The other way is to take this in for a diagnostic, pay them for that, and then fix it yourself knowing what it is for sure.

My vehicle is simulating overheating. A check engine analysis reveals that it is a ECT sensor problem. Is this hard to change on a 2004 Chevy Express Van?

What is Simulating Overheating? it either is overheating, or its not. What engine do you have? What is the trouble code? DO NOT take the word of a parts store free code scan . The ECT is near the thermostat housing.

2006 chevy 2500 express cargo van .What is a good oil pressure for this van. it has 150,000 miles runs great

60psi cold / 30-45psi warm is ideal. I've seen (with that mileage) 45 cold/ 20 warm and that's acceptable - anything less start thinking about a new oil pump.

Hi my 2005 chevy express van shuts off after the temp gauge jumps up and down. its not over heating. its just the gauge is malfunctioning and shutting off the engine. how can i fix it.

I doubt it is the gauge. The most likely problem is the Temp sensor sending faulty signals tot eh ECU which is causing your gauge to jump and it activates your engine safety shutoff to stop engine fires and such. Check the wires for breaks and shorts and replace the temp sensor.

Van skips and runs ruff but only after it warms up i was told could be coil ,or cam sensor or crank sensor but would look to me to do this when cold . van runs perfect when cold only starts having problem...

It sounds like like the ect sensor(eng.coolent temp)
not sending a signal to to the pcm that the engine is
warm. And the engine will stay in cold start mode.
Check the connections at the ect sensor, it's on top
of the engine on the intake manifold. Also have an obdII scan done to see if that sensor or any others
shows a code. You can stop by any autozone/napa
or advance auto parts they will scan it for free.
Hope this helps.
