The passenger window on my 1998 Honda crv rolls down but not up. I have taken the door apart and checked the voltage at the motors wiring harness. It reads 12 volts when I click down, yet nothing when I click up. I replaced the switch and it still doesn't work. What's wrong?

Did you replace the window controller in the drivers door? The one on the driver side controls both. If you did, then you have to replace the one on the passenger door. Both have to work, for it to work. I put the addition info for anyone that has the same problem.

SOURCE: 1996 honda civic lx passanger power window problem

I had this problem as well as 33 others I've spoken to online. The main floor harness runs thru the drivers side front fender and plugs into the drivers door. The harness in 1996 civics are an inch or 2 too short so after a few years a few of the 25 thru 27 wires in the plug #C556 either break off or pull out of the plug. Since the drivers door contains the master power window and lock switches and the power mirrors can also be affected it can seem like everyones problems are in different parts of the car but they are all part of the same default. So I went to ebay and purchased a floor harness with full power options and installed it myself. Until my part came in I just went to a junk yard and cut off a good plug then spliced it into my existing floor harness. Hope this helps. It took me 4 months to figure this problem out!!!

My passenger side window will not roll up or down?

I usually want to look at wiring harness on hinge side of passenger door. Probably has a protective rubber boot, try to pull it back far enough to see wire colors, check the proper wire colors for voltage and ground.
If you want us to look up wiring diagram, we need year--make--model.
At the moment, I can't rule out window motor?

I have a 2004 Chevy venture passenger window won't go up or down what could it be

Have you tried the drivers door "passenger door window switch" and the passenger "door window switch" to try and roll the passenger window up?When you do try to roll it up make sure the vehicle is running as you want the most voltage to the window motor. If both door switches would not roll the window up,try the following.
With the engine running hit the up window switch on the passenger door just as you give the door a HARD FIRM RAP.The window should roll up.It may take a few tries.DO NOT roll the window back down until you have changed or dissembled the window motor for a good cleaning. Also, check for broken wires at the door hinge area on both the drivers and passenger sides, pull each wire firmly looking for a broken wire.

Did you put battery voltage to the old window
motor to test it, or just replace a good motor?

Do you have voltage coming to the switch on
the correct terminals?

How about a broken wire in the harness near the door?

Hard to work on any electrical by guessing at nothing

The right window doesn't go down?

you can take the door pannel off and unplug the wiring to the window motor. take a test light and check for power wile you try to roll the window down.if you have power and a good ground going to it then you have a bad window motor. you can pick up a window regulator and motor at any local junk yard for a lot less than the parts store or the dealer

1998 PONTIAC POWER WINDOW PROBLEMS

Double check all your fuses and and wires in connection with your power windows. Unfortunately though pontiacs are notorious for the power window motor regulators to go out, my buddy had 99 firebird and both windows had the same problem, and I previously owned a 98 sunfire and both window motors went out within the same week.
