My 4x4 blazer will not engage in 4 wheel in low or high.the switch still lights up but 4 wheel drive not working.
I have a 1999 chevy blazer that stuck in 4 wheel drive. How do you get it out.
When you say that the 4wd won't engage, I assume you mean that the front differential is not locking in. If memory serves me correct there is a 3 port vacuum switch located on the top of the transfer case that gave a lot of problems. When the transfer case is shifted to a 4wd mode (high or low) this vacuum switch changes position and routes engine vacuum to the actuator located under the battery tray. This actuator then pulls a cable that move a fork inside the front differential that locks the front diff in 4wd. The vac switch gave a lot of trouble, but any broken vac hoses or differential internal mechanical issues could present as the same issue.

four wheel drive not engaging, machanic put a vacuum on it to see if it was the actuator, he said a line was bad and fixed that, but it still won't engage. He now is looking at the underside of the truck...I think the differential, but it's at the front of the truck not the rear. No other problems with the differential, it's fine in reverse, turning corners exc. Is my machanic jerking me around, and it really is the actuator? can you tell if it's bad if you just hook a vacuum to it?
99 blazer stuck in 4 lo but only driving rear wheels help.
i've replaced the thermostat but i still have no heat, and my heater core isn't bad
my 4 wheel drive switch jumps from high to low like it is trying to engage then the transmission doesn't shift right when you take off . feels like it it wants to shift in high gear and starts to stall
