quick question for you. are you trying to identify size of motor or are you looking for a casting i.d. number ? 2002 sante fe came out with two (2) size motor option 1) is 4 cylinder 2.4 ltr engine ..
2) is a six(6) cylinder 2.7 ltr engine. identify stock engine size thru 5th character of vin number located on driverside door jam, or on dashboard. if its a "B" its a 2.4 if its a "D" its a 2.7 v-6

if the part number is the same and it look the same yes once its a perfect match

Look in the drivers handbook for the fuse location and check that first.

I also find them on on the underside the of fuse box lid.

You are putting the terminals wrong.Negative and positive.

sounds like the shifter cable was routed wrong , or not connected properly

theres a short in the wireing causeing the fuse to blow gonna have to find the short
