O2 Censor needs replaced - moz-screenshot-3.jpgGo HERE. Scroll down to pictures 14, 15 & 16. It will look like one of those pictures depending on which engine you have. You may not need the special socket if the flats on the sensor are where you can get to them. Unplug electrical connector, remove sensor, screw new sensor in & reconnect electrical connector. Not usually too big of a deal. You'll need to reset the check-engine-light with a scanner.

Have it done in a garage, not worth the headache of doin it urself, believe me.
The O2 sensor is located on the downpipe and has a single wire on it, (usually black, but could have white leads on it).of ur exhaust system and requires a socket that has a slot on it.
The O2 sensor is usually really and i mean really stuck there as its been heated and cooled thousands of times.

What place is the bank 1 censor 3 on a s10 98 located

  • Bank 1 is referring to the side of the motor with cylinder 1, usually the driver side. And it would be the 3rd sensor back. Its probably not dual exhaust so its just referring to the rear o2 sensor located after the catylitic converter. Hope this helps.

I have changed both oxygen sensor and spacer also the coolant tempature sensor and the check engine light is still on in my 2005 Audi Quattro 1.8t what else could be wrong?

P0420 means that the catalytic converter is operating below efficiency threshold. Normally, you only get this code if both O2 sensors ARE OPERATING PROPERLY. If you change the O2 sensors and still get the same code, it's an indication your catalytic converter needs to be replaced. But before you replace it, ensure that everything else in the engine is operating properly, so that whatever may have damaged your current catalytic converter doesn't damage a new one.

How do I change the O2 censor on my saturn '99 sl2

If its the one in the exhaust manifold unplug it. Use a 7/8 inch wrech and turn it counter clockwise to remove. Install the new one and snug it up with the wrench and then plug it in. You will do the same on the one after the catalytic converter except you will need to jack up the car and safely secure the vehicle in the jacked up position in order to gain access to the o2 sensor. Is there a reason why you are replacing it? Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

Check engine light on needs o2 censor can i replace it myselfans where is it located

These replacements can be simple, but you will need to get a sensor socket or wrench in order to replace and some can be really rusted in the exhaust. The sensors are located ( depending on motor size v-6 or 4 cylinder) one on the exhaust manifold at the front of the motor and one on the catalytic converter. It will be a short stubby piece with 3-4 wires coming out of it.

Have an 03 silverado needs new o2 censor where are the sensors located? somebody told me there are 7 sensors is this right?

O2 CENSOR IS LOCATED ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THAY HARD TO REACH AND HARD TO GET OFF SOMETIMES. I HAVE A PRO CHANGE MINE. AND YOU SHOULD PROBABLY HAVE THEM CHECK/CHANGE THE CATYLIC CONVERTER, SINCE IT IS PROBABLY WHY YOU NEED AN O2 CENSOR

O2 censor

You would use an oxygen censor socket to repair that. You can buy one for pretty cheap or you can rent one from the parts house. You'll want to disconnect the electrical connection to the O2 censor, slip the socket over it (using the appropriate ratchet) and take it off. You can also use a 7/8 inch wrench on most cars if you can get it in there.
