I thought it was the cap and rotor, coil wire was melted to the cap, changed it. the jeep will top out at 55 - 60 mph(thats with the petal to the floor), i have to shift into 4th gear to keep up with traffic. in 5th gear in will not go over 2000 rpm's, but it does in all the other gears. maybe the exhaust plugged?

Yup...very likely plugged exhaust or restricted fuel filter or weak fuel pump. Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and reproduce the problem...make sure pressure doesnt drop below 35-40 psi. If pressure is good loosen exhaust in front of the cat converter and go for another drive (noisy) see if the power comes back. Cats are more likely to plug up than mufflers
Yes, it is possible that the exhaust is plugged, and more specifically, it could be at the cat. converter. You would need someone to disconnect the exhaust system where the header pipe connects to the exhaust manifold, then drive it. If it preforms good, check converter or muffler. I have seen both at fault.

It was the converter, the innerds was a prefect softball shape. Everytime I got on the throttle it would completely block the exit hole. Thanks guys!!
