Frequently, there is a strong odor of gasoline, both inside car and outside. The car has been taken to 3 dealers,no results, cannot find problem. I afraid of fire. There is no certain time or movement for this to happen, stop for traffic light or start the motor.
Where is vapor. Canister on a 1996 Nissan maxima
For sure there is fuel leafing but you have to locate from where, usualy this can happen from a leaking fuel pressure regulator and this can drip on the hot manifold and cause it to boil and smell the whole car secondly the vapor canister could be damaged and cause the same problem

Same problem on my Mercury Villager - only happens when it is cold out (< 0C approx). I have not yet sorted it out, still looking for the leak source.
This happens with my 2004 Quest as well. Not all the time and no rhyme or reason to it. Weather can be hot or cold. Can be after it has been running and then started again or after sitting for awhile and running. Nissan always tells me to bring it in when I smell it but it usually occurs at times when that is impossible to do. Looking online for solution just like I found for my radio problem. Other than that, no real problems. We are dealing with a battery issue now, though.
sme problem..been tryn to figure out myself but today i checked the oil n have gas in the oil...dont know whats causing yet...
