Combination of brake and battery light mean the alternator is not charging. after you wait for a wile the battery recover some power and will run again but as soon the power drop below 9V the engine die. Test the charging system and replace the alternator

Yes there is a lamp sensor that is between the brake light switch and the rear lamps. If you have a center light it is connected directly to the brake switch and bypasses the sensor. I would check for voltage in and out of the brake switch - if you have voltage out you may have a problem with that sensor.
look underneath the dash at brake pedal and lever i think it maybe the brake light switch? it may have come off or needs to be replaced,check it out though ,because it controls the brake lights and the gear selector
If you find that all the rear brake bulbs are working...the problem is the sensor, located in the trunk, left side, behind the left side plastic wall (Removeable). It is a 2 X 2 cream colored box. Dealer only part. $80-$100 each. Have known 6 other Camry's to have a bad sensor box. Common problem.
