SOURCE: oil around spark plugs on 1992 honda accord

Yes the oil can cause the car to lose spark, the oil leak could be caused by the valve cover gaskets around the spark openings, but 9 times out of 10 it is the spark plug tube "O" rings. The top of the valve train comes off of the head, the "O" rings are between the two halves, that will fix the oil leak.

95 Park Avenue Ultra dies for no reason I can find, I've replaced the crank sensor, cam ssensor, spark module, fuel filter, I've had the injectors tested, fuel pump tested, plugs & wires t

As you have probably figured out by now, you will have to treat it as a no start and troubleshoot it when it fails to start. Until you figure out if you are loosing spark or fuel to the injectors when the engine dies you have no direction to go in.

1991 honda accord starts intermittently. When it doesn't the gas guage goes below E. Gets spark, no fuel. Already changed main relay.

Hey man if you already changed out the relay i would try changing your fuel pump and sending unit that should stop both of your problems.

Before you threw a bunch of parts at it maybe you should at least see if it has spark. If it doesn't have spark then the crank sensor and coil pack would be appropriate. If it is not getting fuel then the fuel pump, filter, etc. would be the way to go. So see if there is spark, do this by pulling a spark plug and see if there is spark out the end with it plugged into the wire and cranking it over. If there is spark put all this back together and squirt some fuel into the throttle body while cranking it over, if it tries to start but doesn't try to start on its own without squirting fuel in it then the fuel pump is bad. How many miles on it? Possibly the cam timing is off. Maybe take a compression check and see if the cam is out of time.

My 93 plymouth laser wont start

If a starter is able to crank the engine but it won't start you usually have either an electrical or fuel problem. It's also remotely possibly that it's compression.

If an engine has proper fuel, spark and compression, it will start when you crank it. So your challange is to find out which part isn't working right. Start with fuel. Spray a little starting fluid into the air intake while someone tries to start the engine. If it starts briefly when you're spraying starting fluid, you probably have a fuel delivery problem. That could be injectors, fuel pump, fuel filter, relay, fuse... who knows what until you check into it.

If it doesn't start with starting fluid, check the spark. Pull a plug wire and attach it to a spare sparkplug and set the plug on a solid metal part of the engine. Have a helper crank the engine while you watch the plug. If you have a good spark, it might just be out of timing.

In any case, you'll need to start isolating the problem. Find out which part isn't working then you'll know what to replace/repair.

Van turn off

Check for spark in order to see if the engine's ignition system is working.
Add starting fluid to the intake to see if it starts for a few seconds.
If the car does start, then it's a fuel delivery problem such as a fuel pump or a computer that doesn't allow fuel injectors to pulse.

If it doesn't start, then the spark is likely not being delivered to the spark plugs.
One can double check this by using a spark tester for the spark plug boot removed from the spark plug and grounded to the chassis.

The engine turns over but the motor will not start. The van was running fine when it was cut off. It doesn't seem to be getting gas.

It's very likely your fuel pump has failed. Have somebody thump on the fuel tank while you're cranking the engine and see if it starts. If it does, replace the fuel pump. Otherwise get your fuel pressure checked, and check for spark. If no spark, check to make sure the distributor is turning(if applicable) If a 3.3 motor with no spark, suspect the crank sensor or cam sensor. Crank sensor is much easier to replace if experimenting.

[email protected] hav e a 94 cavalier that just had the fuel pump replaced, along with the fuel filter, spark plugs and thermostat. Has at minimum half a tank of gas and will not start. Cranks over...

before you do that ,, remove the distributor cap,, and check the rotor and the cap contact points remove any build up on them with a small piece of sandpaper, then try and start it, if that doesn't work,, also,, this is listed as 2 different years,, this model changed in 95, they go 95-2000 for the part your asking about, and to get you the correct info I'd need to know which motor you have

I have a 2003 Kia sedona ran out of igas now wont start the code I get say crank posistioning sensor will that cut or cause the fuel pump not to work cause I get no humming from it the code is p0335

No this does not affect the fuel pump. It will affect the spark though. Hit the gas tank in the center a few times. If it starts then replace the fuel pump. Unfortunetly pumps with a few yaers on them will die when ran out of gas. If it doesn't start pull one of the spark plug wires, insert a screwdriver and put it close to the engine. crank the engine and watch for a spark. if there is no spark then replace the crank shaft sensor. before you replace the fuel pump.
