Recommended tire size is 2352/70/R15 can I change sizes?

The recommended tire for this is a 235/70/r15. I want to change to a 235/75/r15 but my Dad says it's not a good idea. The 70's are only available in a 4 ply and I live in the country. We are forever plugging and replacing tires and they usually start around $130 each. So I want something with a little more grit to withstand my country roads. Will changing tire sizes change how my vehicle runs?

If you change tire size you will have a minor speedometer errors. And you have to make sure that if the tire is wider, that you have no issues when you turn the front wheels.
Other than that you are good to go.

I don't believe there would be a problem due to fit but this is difference in measurements.
The 75 diameter (across tire) is 28.88 in.
The 70 diameter is 27.95 in
The 75 width of tire is 9.25
The 70 width is also 9.25
The 75 circumference 90.72
The 70 circumference 87.82
The 75 sidewall height 6.94
The 70 sidewall height 6.48
The 75 revolution per mile 698
The 70 revolution per mile 721
The 75 speed at 50 and the 70 is 48.4
I can't see why it would not work.

SOURCE: steering noise

The noise you are hearing is most likely from the tires. If you like the the tires try wheel spacers or if its a 4x4 try cranking the torsion bars, but make sure you do them equally

SOURCE: is it ok to go from 235 70 r15 tires to 235 75 r15

Yes its ok, the 75 tires are a little taller. your speedometer will not read correct speed, you will actually be going faster than what it reads.

Testimonial: "Thanks for the info on the speed,i wasn't aware of that."

Will i have a problem installing 225/60/15 winter tires on my 1999 chevy tahoe

Hello,

I pulled up your vehicle information in our fitment guide and tires in the 225/60/R15 and 225/60R16 sizes are not load rated for your vehicle. They are also quite a bit smaller than the tires that came on your Tahoe when new. Running a tire that is too small (even if it was load rated) will have an effect on your vehicles performance. We do not recommend installing either of these sizes for safety and performance reasons.

If your Tahoe came with 15" wheels we would recommend looking into the 235/75R15 size.

If your Tahoe came with 16" wheels we would recommend looking into the 245/75R16 or 235/75R16 sizes.

If you are still searching for some winter tire options please feel free to shop our website at www.discounttire.com or contact one of our local Discount Tire or America's Tire stores. We would love to help you find a great winter tire that will fit your Tahoe correctly and help keep you and your passengers safe.

I recently purchased a 2007 Ford Sport Trac Limited. I just realized that the 4 new tires installed by the dealership prior to my purchase are 235/60/18 but the recommended size is 235/65/18. Is this...

5mm is NOTHING to worry about, these are more expensive than 235/65/18,it means that they are thinner (closer to the ground) they MAY effect you speedo very slightly.but you will feel more secure.less sideways movement... geoff

I have a 2005 nissan sentra. Tire size is 195/60 R15. I have the chance to get 2 195/65 R15 tires at a good price, and want to put them on the back, keeping the 195/60's on the front. Will this be OK? Some...

Hi!

195(width in mm)/60(sidewall height in % of width) R15(rim diameter)

This means, a 195/60 R15 rides lower than a 195/65 R15 tire. Imagine how it would look like when you put these different tire sizes on one car. It can be done but the car will be unbalanced both mechanically and aesthetically. Remember, your car was not designed for different front and rear tire sizes unlike some sports cars.

A 2005 model will most like come standard with ABS as with most cars produced year 2001 onwards.
Just buy 1 tire size for your car. If you wish to change to another tire size, change all the tires.

Good luck!

Got 235/75R15 tires on rear. whats the smaller size tires could go on front.

Don't know if you have 2 wheel drive, or 4 wheel drive...if 4 wheel drive Ford would only recom/mend the same size for the front...with 2 whell drive you can run a smaller front size tire...but don;t know why you would except for looks...:) The size smaller than the 235/75/R15 is 225/75R15 and next smaller is 215/75R15 and so on... A lower profile size would be 235/70R15 or 225/70R15 and so on...I would not recommend using anything smaller than these...the smaller sizes don't always cost less anymore...

What size tires originally on jms 1995 jimmy

There were a few different sizes originally available on that vehicle depending on options. If it is 2wd it could have come from the factory with a 205-75-15 or a 235-70-15 tire. If it's 4wd it could have come with a 235-70-15 or 235-75-15 tire. There should be a tire placard on the door jam of the drivers door stating original equipment tire sizes and recommended inflation pressures.

What the best tire size for a 1996 dodge dakota truck rear wheel drive

Should be a sticker on the driver's door or door jamb, with tire size and recommended pressure. Discount Tire's web site calls for either a 215/75R15 or 235/75R15. This assumes you have the original sized wheels on it. If you basically using it as a car, not carrying loads, towing, or driving on dirt roads, the 215s should be OK, otherwise I'd go with the 235s. What size do you have now?
