1996 honda prelude oil leak

I just changed head gasket of a 96 2.3 engine. Had head surfaced. Engine runs good but has oil leak on right side of engine- looks like under thermostat housing. It is running down crossmember on to exhaust leaving puddles on ground, any idea? Head is dry, valve cover is not leaking. Checked oil filter, checked oil sending unit all dry. Not leaking coolant.installed new raditor, thermostat all new gaskets.

Did you check the steering pump, AC compression pump, etc or other engine components ? it could be something other than the engine.

2002 Subaru outback is leaking antifreeze and not heating up.

This is common issue early sign head gaskets failure for EJ251 SOHC engine for external coolant leak. Second gen 96-99 with EJ25D is worst because when head gaskets failed, it's an internal leak that allows coolant and oil mix together in the combustion chamber to destroy engine.
You can drive it for at least 6 months or more as long as you keep top up coolant since the leak should be small at a slower rate leak. I drove mine for a while before change head gaskets. You're looking at `$1000-1200 job a dealership since you might as well change the timing belt, water pump, idlers while engine is pulled to replace head gaskets.

My 91 honda prelude is leeking oil and its smokes when hot but cant figure out where its leeking from

easiest way is to get the dye and poor it into your engine. Then with the dye light you will be able to track the source. On those years the most likely spot was the intake manifold gasket and valve cover gasket. You also could have a blown head gasket that only blew on a oil intake side, doesnt mean that you would over heat

Why is it leaking oil from oil filter after i did oil change??

Hello,

Not good.

Wrong filter, damaged filter or filter not tight enough.

Double check.

Did you get an oil light on dash (2 quarts low).
The computer may have shut the engine down before engine failure if you are lucky (oil light). If you did not blow your engine (sieze) and you fix the filter problem put some 'lucas' oil in your engine to help with excessive friction caused by low oil level.

I hope this helps.

How do you repair a oil leak in a 96 honda accord?

Clean the oil from the engine anywhere you can see it, and determine where the oil is leaking from. If a gasket, purchase the gasket from a reputable parts store, or your local Honda dealer. If a seal, purchase a new seal from the same.

Replace offending part, oil leak will cease.

White smoke coming out tailpipe

If your intake gaskets are leaking, when you dump soapy water on the gasket, it should bubble like crazy ( when it's running). If you can, run it with the rad cap off and watch for bubbles. If it keeps bubbling, you probably have a head gasket problem.

Coolant leaking from rear of engine where the passenger side head and intake meet the block. The engine seems to run fine. is there anything under the intake that could be damaged or do you think its a head...

That would be a head gasket leak. The motor will run fine there min. change white smoke from exhaust but min. On newer cars the check engine light will engage

The problem is that your oil and anti freeze are mixing not a good thing. Good luck .
