Question about 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio
Last yr. i had the "computer" of my cabrio replaced after a blown fuse jumper cable mishap. everything was fixed except the radio, which i was told had to be replaced. Where can i get a replacement which is just the standard radio the cabrio came with or equivalent from another manufacturer. Is there a particular part number or name i should be looking for? also, i know that the VW radios have some kind of code to unlock them, would that mean i would have to find a radio being sold with the code? what if it is not a vw radio? does that then require a code? is the repalcement something i could install myself with directions, or does it need to be done by a professional? Finally, what's the average overall cost of this, so i know what i'm being charged is reasonable?

You have to go to the dealership and fork over $50 to get it. Unless you or the previous owner wrote it in the manual or anywhere else on the car, that's the only way.
