Question about Cars & Trucks
My 2001 Hyundai elantra is revimg real high rpm's, does this at idle and when changing gears, I can use the clutch to help control this when driving, but when foot is off the clutch it revs at 4000 rpm's. I have changed the tps already and no improvement, cleaned throttle body as well. What could be causing this?
Check your butterfly it may be getting stuck or your plastic housing may be coming in contact with the butterfly. Also check your wire running from your gas pedal to your carborator.at a little wd40

dear friend-the hyundai products has the future of returning to idle slowly so any changes wil not bring it down quicker unless you can find away to confuse the ecu.

SOURCE: high rev problem
this problem I find in alot of 3.4 ltre grand-ams and that is the wiring go to the intake air temp sensor is broken at the connector. the wire will look good but in the insulation it will be broken. just give each wire a tug, if the wire pulls out then that is the broken one.
