Getting fuel smell inside car and loss of fuel now on 1992 Saab 900. Bought used and one owner. Was told that fuel pump was replaced before buying it. Why is smell getting worse? How can i locate leak? Didnt see fuel loss till after about a month of owning. Good mileage till then. Where can i find diagram on fuel system to trace leak? have already cked on top of fuel pump area.

sounds like your heater core has a leak in it. take your sunroof off and get some rubber revitalizer at a glass shop. Try cleaning it and using the rubber rejuvenator on it.

The fuel pump is in the top of the gas tank, accessible from the trunk, under the carpeted floor. here is a link to a good FAQ answer about fuel pumps, follow the pricing link for info on replacing just the insert, which is cheaper than replacing the entire pump. Carry out the checks described to ensure that it is actually the pump causing your problem!

i think they didnt want to do it all dealerships have the right stuff to fix it.try someone else.

Under the car, rear passenger side, just in front of the wheel well. The plug is located next to the actual fuel pump.
