Audi allroad 2.7 turbo over boosting

was the computer reprogrammed to the right VIN???

boost pressure is related to exhaust temperature . so if you are not under load then the accelerator position will only allow the fuel that is required and so the boost will be reacting accordingly. If you suddenly accelerate and the boost goes up then the turbo is doing the job. If it stays the same then look for boost leaks in hoses and air cooler. waste gate settings or faulty turbo.

Have you checked the PCV system?? If its stuck in the closed position then you will lack power and turbo boost. A vehicle needs 3 things to make it run proper; FUEL,FIRE and AIR. Try that and see if it helps.

by the sound of it you could have one or both of these problems.
1. a vacuum leak which is causing the car to over boost.
2. ignition fault which is causing the car to die.


1. look in the engine bay and look for small rubber hoses, check all you can find and look for cracks or splits. make sure you check the small rubber hose on the turbo itself.

2. you may have a faulty spark plug, coil pack, HT lead (depending on which engine you have)

1 is probably your boost problem
2 is your cutting out problem

16619 -Engine boost condition - Limit not reached. Check intake hoses/ connections for leaks. Check Turbo charger waste gate regulating valve/ waste gate working correctly. Must move freely when accelerating, won't achieve full boost if waste gate sticking open. Check Turbo impeller turning freely, oil feed pipe for turbo can get blocked causing impeller to seize. Engine compact, not easy to access these components.

I assume its the 6.0L diesel...If so sigh......double sigh.. I had one of these...triple sigh. I need a bit more clarification. How many km on the engine/vehicle. Also, you say that it blows black smoke while running at a constant speed at 2600 rpm, or while you are accelerating to 2600 rpm. Also, when you say the boost goes down, does it decrease by itself, or when the throttle is let off. The boost naturally goes down when the throttle is released (not trying to be a ****, i dont know how much you know). However, if the boost is going down by itself, while the engine is under load (its not supposed to, it should stay constant) it could be a couple of things, which "can" contribute to black smoke. If there is a leak anywhere from the turbo to the intake of the engine, it will cause the engine to get less boost, which means less air into the cylinders, which means black smoke. Check all of the connectors/tubing coming from the turbo to the intercooler, and from the intercooler to the intake manifold and see if there are any problems. The more costly problems which results in boost going down, and black smoke, deals with a problem with the wastegate on the turbo (controls how much boost is produced, and when too much is being made, it will bleed off excess pressure). So if your wastegate is malfunctioning, your boost will go down and you will get black smoke cause the engine is not getting enough air. also, around 160km...80mi, the injectors "can" start to go on the 6.0L diesels....I would check the turbo for leaks, the tubing for leaks, and the intercooler for leaks (a big rock can punch a hole in radiators and intercoolers...intercooler will be in front of the radiator). It's possible that the diverter valve (DV) has failed. The OEM valve has a plastic diaphragm inside and it can crack. If this happens, the car will leak boost air and will lose power as a result. Go to www.audiworld.com, click on Resources, then Tech, and then go to the engine article about replacing/upgrading the diverter valve - it'll show you where it is and how to do it.
