Its mounted to the wheel hub assembly right behind the brake rotor or brake caliber.

SOURCE: ''check engine light'' illuminated, 1004 Hyundai, Santa Fe

If you live in the US, take it to qany Auto Zone store and thy will read the codes off for you, I would suspect any right thinking competitor would do the same, check if you don't have one near by.

Hope this is of some help.

If you have a mass air flow sensor in the big boot from air cleaner housing to throttle body, likely there is no map sensor.

Hard to start on 2002 hyundai santa fe? everytime i push gas once then start work and run good can u tell me what is wrong?

yeah, it should start without pushing the gas pedal. Sounds then, like too little gas, or too much air. I would start with a fuel pressure test to see if pressure is up to specs. Also check for any vacuum lines disconnected or bad. Might want to see if engine has any trouble codes. Some parts places (autozone) will check for codes for free. When was last time you changed your fuel filter? Might need replacing. Good luck.

WHERE IS THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR LOCATED

The 2002 Santa Fe came with three (3) possible powertrains (engines). The 4 cylinder, and two different V6 engines - i.e. 2.4L 4 cylinder, the 2.7L V6 and the 3.5L V6.

The crankshaft position sensor on the 4 cylinder and the 3.5L V6 are in the same place - Front Crank Shaft behind the pully (behind the timing belt cover.

On the 2.7L V6, the Cranshaft Position Sensor is located in the engine block (Left Hand Side)
near the flywheel (adjacent to the LH (Bank 2) exhaust manifold.

Note: Left Hand Side means the radiator side (front) Bank 1 is the firewall side.

2004 santa fe (4 cyl model) low jumpy idle and low power at slow speeds and idle ..... very jumpy. Transmission has checked out ok. Seems to worsen if you have the air conditioner on.

Do you have a check engine light? If so have Autozone tell you what engine code is ( free). Sounds like could be cranck shaft position sensor. Symptoms sound just like what ours was doing before we replaced sensor.

Code P0501 vehicle speed sensor A range/

I found an answer to this in the reverse direction. While changing my front brakes, I noticed that the sprocket pickup for the speed sensor on the front passenger side half shaft that works with the sensor was cracked and ready to fall off. I removed it so that it wouldn't fly off and puncture a tire. I do NOT have Anti Lock Brakes on my 2001 Santa Fe. I started up the car wondering what to expect and experienced a P0501, P1529, P0500 and a second P0501. Looks like it time for a new half shaft (Axle).
