Just bought the Excursion. Small round plug on back of rear view mirror. What is it? When I plugged it in, smoke began to come from around the trim. Yikes!!
This is for auto dimm view at night. A little small green ligh will lighte if it is on.Also there is a switch in the lower trim edge to put it on.
And if it is smooking must be a shortage some where.
Any way u can do with out it just make sure that what ever is causing the short is not somewhere else.
hope this helps

Yes it is the tool for fuel lines and ac lines. Your local autoparts store should have them, they are universal. You need to use the small end for the fuel filter.
SOURCE: the spark plug will not screw in it seems like the
Quick Tip. Take one old spark plug and saw an X across the threads on the bottom with your hacksaw. Clean away the filings. Oil it and thread it into the spark plug hole. This is called re tapping. Then try the new plug again. Has worked many times for me.

glow plugs preheat the fuel to help the engine start.....when its hot outside its not that bad...the colder it gets the harder it will be to start with bad glowplugs..

Remove the plug and check the compression for that cylinder it should be between 120 psi and 150 psi, if it is low it is a mechanical issue (bad valve or worn piston rings). If commpression is low remove the valve cover and turn over the motor confirming that both valves for that cylinder are opening to there correct travel or height if not it is a faulty hydraulic lifter or worn cam. Also check the valve lash clearance the clearance is usually .012" for the exhaust valve and .008" for the intake valve to check the lash turn the motor over until the valve shuts completely for each valve, then use a feeler gauge go no go procedure. Has the wire been replaced for the plug? If this motor has coil on plug type disregard plug wire question.
