Under the steering wheel are two plastic screws. Turn them one quarter turn counter-clockwise. Pul the panel away from the dashboard. And your there.

SOURCE: My Ford Windstar 2000's cable

Double check all connections Positive and grounds are good and clean, as well as check voltage when engine running to be sure overcharging is not the case. One other thing I would do is check with local Ford dealer regarding any possible recall, or technical service bulletin regarding that. If that all checks out, I would replace the cable with a heavier gauge, just in case it was manufactured with too small of a cable for amperage draw from vehicle.

Horn problem on 2001 ford explorer xlt

Hi there,

Inspect the following components, in this order (with key off) until you get it working:

** Disconnect the plugs from the Horn terminals. Run separate jumper wires from the Batt (NEG & POS), to the horn. If horn does not work, then replace horn. If horn works fine, then continue....

** Check fuse # 10 (15A), in the Battery Junction Box - replace if defective. Check horn operation.

** Check Horn Relay (also in the Battery Junction Box) - remove the relay, give it a gentle tap, and plug back in. Check horn operation.

If all the above prove ok, then the fault lies in your steering wheel/horn switch assembly.
