Sounds like your emergency brake cables are stuck raise your car one wheel at time starting with the front (block the back wheels for safety) put the car in neutral and see if the front wheels spin by hand if so the e-brake is the problem try rocking the brake handle a few times if that dont do it put the car back down find the cables under the car and try to move them around the cable may release itself doing this

Parking brake light stays on. 2008 Chrysler Sebring.

the brake light will stay on for two reasons. the switch is bad so when you pull the handle the switch is not being moved like it should and since its out of adjustment it wont know the lever moved. the other reason is the sensor on the abs system thinks there is a problem with the hydraulics and keeping the light on till it problem is resolved. your problem is it could be either and figuring out which will be a problem. the switch on the ebrake handle is the easier one to check. unplugged the switch and see if the light goes out. if it does then replace the switch or adjust it so it works the correct way.

Hummer H3. Wont shift out of park, key is stuck in ignition, will not turn on accessories or crank, break lights stay on. Removed interior carpet to apply herculiner. Any ideas as to what the problem

Many cars, I presume the Hummer also will not let you shift out of Park unless the Brake pedal is depressed. Most do this by an electronic interlock with the brake light switch. Yours is broke. Either the brake light switch has moved out of position or is defective, or your brake pedal is not retracting to the full off position.

Will not shift in my 2000 chevy lumina

a jeep lumina?
wrong forum but that is ok, seems to be common here.
what wont shift.
A/T or M/T auto or stick? tranny????
what does will not , mean?
I cant move the shift lever
i cant shift, to 2nd
IT (autobox ) will not shift ever, or slips or flares. or?
if its and A/T autotranny, tell me what it does right and wrong
here is an example.
i start engine.
i shift to drive car dont move, in any gear
i see RPM race high with right foot over 3000 RPM.
tranny failure. (slips)
or RPM stays near 1500, and engine sounds loaded,
and i find the parking brake stuck on, or the brakes are full of ice
and stuck fast.

My crysler 300 - C is stuck in park and wont let shifter move i move the pink pin under shifter plate left and right and still wont shift

This car uses a park lock system, it is operated by the brake light circuit, so is if the brake lights are not on when the pedal is pushed the park lock will not released. if the brake lights do work you have other more serious issues **** as a defective lock solenoid. The owners manual gives the bypass procedure around this problem, check the index.

BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON ENGINE RUNNING BUT CAR WONT DRIVE

there is a button on your brake pedal lever that while braking gets depressed, and turns on your brake lights. Now this component is a plastic piece that can get knocked loose rather simply. You either need to re-secure this component, or replace it

(you can get this part at any junk yard for nothing more than some pocket change)
