Do you have a check engine light, if so check it out. Most auto stores where I live will check the code for free.
Some thoughts MAF sensor The Symptoms of a Bad Mass Air Flow Sensor - AutoZone MAF could indicate high air flow and computer is sending to much gas and flooding it. How to Tell if Your Throttle Position Sensor Is Failing (repairpal.com)
when you press gas pedal it controls the throttle body and lets more air in to intake manifold TPS reads to position of Throttle body.
I'm just thinking it may have something to do with air flow. My vehicles usually have the MAF after air leaves air filter and Throttle body TPS after MAF and before engine.
Just my thoughts.
I think you should head to a mechanic. Sounds like you got water in the fuel system. You could possibly resolve the issue by filling up with a fresh tank of gas, but that could also cause more problems if there is a lot of water in there already. I'd take it to a trusted mechanic.
Are you sure of the ratio? Here in the states E-85 means 85% Ethanol and 15% gasoline.
If that is the case, and your mix is 95% Ethanol You will have hard start when cold, less power and the check engine light will stay on. I have been running E-85 on my gasoline vehicles here for the last 5 years. I have had no other problems.
That does sound like a linkage adjustment problem.
If that does not work, I'd try a fluid change and filter. But your diagnostics with pulling on the gear shifter is a pretty good indication of a linkage problem.
change plugs wires also .fill gas tank up put prestone or gum out fuel injector cleaner.drive car around several miles.give injector cleaner time to clean out injectors.wait until engine cool .change fuel filter.relief fuel pressure before changing fuel filter.
I had the same exact symptom (02 Prizm LSI)..Order yourself a Blower Motor Resistor (I clicked on it---scroll up on this same screen that you are reading--- AC Delco part, $25.79). When the part arrives, look at it, and then look behind and to the left of your glove box door, YOU WILL SEE IT RIGHT AWAY. 2 screws, takes about 10 minutes to change. Its been nice to get all 4 speeds back! Good luck.
You have burnt/pitted contacts in the starter solenoid, very common on Nippondenso starters, which the Geo uses. If you can get just the contacts rebuild it, otherwise replace the solenoid and or the starter, if you have really high miles it is better to replace the whole starter with a rebuilt unit from any quality rebuilder, Delco is a real good one, The best price I found was at Rockauto.com, $72.00 for a Delco rebuilt unit. Contacts are availiable from Ohiomotor.com
