If the fuel pump is working, fuel should be reaching the motor. Otherwise, you need to check the fuel pressure regulator. Depending on the location, if it is before the motor and the regulator is bad, then the fuel wont pass through.
Did you check for spark from the wires? My experience with Chevy Cavaliers is usually electrical but not fuel related.

No fuel going throw the pump to the injector. so the motor wont start. this is at the high pressure lines to the injection nozzles so the motor wont start.

Have you listened by putting your ear to fuel filler if you can hear the fuel pump whirring as someone turns the ignition to accesory , if you can not hear the fuel pump motor for about 3-4 seconds whirring your fuel pumps stuffed

How to tell if 1995 ra1 honda odyssey fuel pump working or not??

It sounds like there might be an air lock between the fuel pump and the carburetor. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel pump at the carburetor. Get a coffee can or another container turn the fuel pump on or try and start the car. the fuel pump will pump fuel through the fuel line to fill it with fuel and push the air out of the line. When you get a steady stream of fuel , reconnect the fuel line to the carburetor, the car should start.

I put a new fuel pump in my 1998 pontiac transport with the 3.4 motor and it still wont start. it has spark and cranks over but wont start

remove the fuel line from the fuel rail and turn the ignition on, if the pump is working there should be fuel coming from the hose, if there is none go back to the fuel filter and remove the inlet hose from the fuel filter and turn the ignition on, if fuel comes out from there your fuel filter is blocked, if there is no fuel your pump is not working
