My 95 dodge neon wont go into reverse. i had adjusted the band but still no reverse i read that if the band is supposted to be .080" (2 mm) if its below that u have to replace the bands mine are fine. my ? is what do i need to do to make it go in reverse and when i adjusted the shifter cable it go in reverse but it goes forward in reverse instead what did i do wrong? and when i put it in neutral it goes in drive suppose to stay still in reverse it stays still when i put it in 2nd low its a 3speed auto. so what do i need to do to make reverse go into reverse,neutral into neutral at least i have drive though any advice would be helpful. oh more ?. when adjusting the reverse band how far should the band be from the shaft? should it touch the shaft? have to be a certain distance i kmow it has to be a certain way to touch the shaft so it wil ingage right? need a measurement or something that will help me ?

did you have transmission fluid changed and filter,transmission flush, beware oem transmission fluid should be used in ford sythetic transmission is required using dexron 2 0r 3 fluid will give slippage and erratic shift patterns

I can't find any reference to an adjustment in the overhaul manual, so i will assume this means no adj ness. or provided for.

First off before adjusting anything change your tranny fluid and filter that usualy helps the tranny
