Nd she got upset with it and beat the **** out of the poor door trying to close it. Instead of moving the latch around which had flipped backwards on both doors, she slammed them repeatedly and now the guts inside the doors are all mangled. I can't close them at all. Everyone has told me to get rid of the van, but I like it and I would really rather fix it and keep it. Sandy S. ND

Try putting a screwdriver in to act as catch on door frame & try pulling each handle & getting it to let go. Make sure you spray it, as well as behind it & around it with WD-40 or similar to get things loosened up in case their just partially seized. The keep working it with screwdriver until freed up.

sounds like the door sensor switch is malfunctioning and when almost closed it reacts like it is blocked (such and kid in way) and opens for safety. try flushing trach with hose and try again, if not u need a good repair manual such as chiltons($25 most parts stores ) or see mechanic
