Blew an oil line while driving. replaced it, added oil. car started right up prob is auto trans would not engage in any gear. no previous problem. does low oil press affect the trans??

Blew an oil cooler line or a transmission cooler line? Low transmission fluid would keep it from moving. Trying to drive it to long with transmission fluid about empty, would burn up the transmission. Oil pressure won't affect the transmission.

My '94 Toyota Camrywith automatic trans will not engage. It will roll forwards or backwards if I don't have wooden blocks in front of the tire.

Odd - if it rolls, even in park, the transmission isn't engaged. If it grinds, it sounds like it is. I would certainly start with the fluid- change it and make sure to use the right kind. Some if these vehicles only use OEM fluid, not regular ATF. Might consider a flush -again, probably go with a dealer- to see if something is plugged. Hard to say though, haven't heard of this before.

How to replace a A/T over run clutch solenoid on a 2006 Nissan frontier truck

what is wrong with the trans? i would start with checking your coolant in radiator and overflow bottle. let truck cool off and check coolant. make sure its nice and clean and green in color. not milky white. start there and let me know. we have seen radiator issues where coolant mixes with trans fluid and destroys trans. other than that those transmissions are pretty bullet proof. if your coolant is milky color, then that is a big problem. you will need new trans and radiator replaced. and to answer your question, the solenoid pack is inside of the transmission bolted to the valve body. you will need to open the unit from the bottom and replace solenoid pack.start with checking coolant first.

Transmission is stuck in 3rd gear. starts in 3rd and does not shift

check your coolant fluid in the radiator and coolant pressure tank on side of the fender. nissan has some issue where coolant mixes with trans fluid in trans and the transmission goes south. if your coolant is not nice and green, than it mixed with trans fluid and your trans along with the radiator will have to be replaced. also check your trans fluid and make sure its nice and red, not pink and milky like strawberry milk. that is another sign of radiator cooler failure. start there and let me know what you find.

I want to know how to replace the transmission filter on a 2000 chevrolet venture

Remove the transmission pan, after pan is removed, the filter will be clearly visible. Pull straight down on the filter in a wiggleing fashion, it will pop right out of the transmission. Install new filter, clean out trans pan and magnet inside pan. Install trans pan and add approx. 2.5 qts. of new trans fluid. Start vehicle and let it get to operating temperature. Shift through all gears and re-check fluid level in trans. Add fluid as needed.

My nissan sunny GA15DE was overhauled but started having rough idle immediately threafter. what could have caused this? Gerald

Gerald:Was the engine overhauled because of the smoking problem? If so, the auto trans solution is more likely your problem. Good Luck
  • Automatic transmission? - Check vacuum line to transmission . The only line of rubber going to trans. Located where it attaches ro trans and rwmove it watching to see if it contains any trans fluid. If hose has oil in itm Then replace the valve it was attached to. The valve is called a transmission modulator. The diaphragm is rupture and aloowing engine vacuum to **** and burn the fluid. your trans should be needing fluid too often. Modulator around 12.00 last known.
  • Manual transmission ? - PCVvalve not bafflrd against drawing oil from its location in valve cover.and or Pcv valve is defective. Cheap fix-replace

Transmission problem

First of all, check your trans. fluid with the engine warm. You may only be low on trans. fluid. You can raise the car and do a trans. service. it's messy but doesn't cost alot to do. Just remove the trans pan slowly and allow the fluid to drain as you're removing the pan. Take the pan down and drain the pan and take alook of what's in the bottom of the pan. As long as you don't see metal shavings you're ok. You will see black graphite material which is the clutch materail's normal wear. Replace the filter and bolt the pan back on. Don't over tighten the bolts, just good and snug. Fill trans. back up, this should be about 4 qts of trans. fluid. Start and run, check for leaks and check to see if the trans. works better.
