I think the problem is all related though~when it first happened the speedometer dropped to 0 and then started working again and all the lights turned off.

The problem happened again yesterday and the brake problem was simultaneous with the lights coming on and the speedometer not working.

Any thoughts? I appreciate your assistance!

I have the exact same problem with my 2001 saab 9-3. When I step on the brake the same lights come on including the tsc light, the cruse control doesn't work, and all the guages drop to 0. Thanks in advance for any help on fixing this problem.

Do you have a problem keeping the engine running when at idle?? And does your cruise controll work??

To begin i dont know what it means to say expensive or not how ever, all the lights at the same time could only mean one thing the problem could be in one of the diodes in your alternator is bad thus turning on all the lights on the dash board,

now regarding your brakes especially on saab;s shake or vibration is caused by uneven surface on the brake rotors (usualy the front) my suggestion is to replace the front rotors and the brake pads at the same time.

Hand brake light as you call it , will come on when other thing's are wrong in the brake system ,not just when the emergency brake is applied . Low fluid in the master cylinder will turn it on, the ABS control module can have it turned on when their is a ABS problem . etc..... With the ABS , check engine light ,emergency brake light on , code's are stored in the EBCM - electronic brake control module . The speedometer info. come's to the instrument cluster from the EBCM . Probably have a bad wheel speed sensor . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop.

My dashboard lights (battery emergency brake light & air bags) are flashing on my dashboard while driving but go out when I come to a stop on my 2001 santa fe

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

TCS light on, ABS light on, brake light on, spedometer and odometer not working on my 2001 Saab 9-3 convertible, someone tell me which sensor is not working. Hate to take it to Saab dealer, all are crooks....

Well, it could mean that the emergency brake has not been fully released.The ABS system light is on if something has occurred within the ABS system. Something faulty may have happened there, get it checked out!

Abs & TCS-off dash lights both stay on. Pushing the TCS off switch does not help. "seem" to stop fine. Emergency brake seems to be fully off, not dragging. My wife encountered a patch of ice...

Hello: If there is a problem in the ABS it will bring on the tcs light as well. To determine what is causing the problem you need to have the ABS checked with a scanner to get the code. Then trouble shoot the components that the code leads you to. Normal braking is available with the light on but TCS is not as it relies on ABS for functioning the TCS.
