I CAN NOT CLOSE MY DOOR NO MATTER WHAT I HAVE TRIED
Get a gun and shoot it! Oh, it's a classic. Well, take the inner door panel off to get to the sticky mechanism. Once in there, it should be a simple fix. WD-40 doesn't help on the door latch to try and free it up?
Good luck, hope you get it fixed. I like seeing old cars on the road. and out of recycler's hands. Glad you didn't go for the Cash for Clunkers program, lol.
put a screwdriver in the latch jaws and force it open

It sounds to me ( correct me if I'm wrong ) like the door latch on the side vertical edge of the door is in the LOCKED POSITION. In order to unlock it perform the following. First electrically with the LOCK button UNLOCK the locks. Now with one hand hold the OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE IN THE OPEN POSITION, while at the same time FLIPPING OPEN THE LATCH. All Done . Now you can close the door. Hope this helps

Vapor lock cannot occur in a tank mounted fuel pump. The pump may be worn enough to lose it's pumping ability at high temperatures. Have you changed the fuel filter? Is the check engine light on? If so, rent a scanner, read the code(s) and follow them to repairs. What occurs when the temps reach 96 degrees?
