Dash board clock will not light up any more.

I have a 1998 Grand Prix Daytona 500. The clock will not light up anymore. On a sunny day you can see it is still running but does not light up. Hard to explain. The dealer ship can't find a problem. All the lights on the radio still work. The clock is seperate. Located in the top left of the radio. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem, along with the LOC is activated as I had to disconnect the battery. The 800# on an earlier fix is good, but the 206010 comes back as invalid.

I had the same problem on my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. I sent my radio out for repair of illumination. You can find online places that will provide shipping labels for sending the radio in and returning it back to you.

SOURCE: Ignition problem

hey, I had the same problem before, exactly the same thing. I had to replace the ignition switch wiring, not the ignition key cylinder. the wires that go from steering wheel to the bottom near the brake and gas pedals, is not hard to do, I did it myself and the wiring cost 90.00. that fixed my problem, try!!!

SOURCE: radio in 2001 grand prix

The problem is the light bulb behind the screen if you pull the radio out of the dash & pull the radio apart the bulb is right behind the screen with a little work you can get it out, and you can buy it at a pontiac/gm garage. Part # 16208443. Good Luck

SOURCE: 1998 Firebird dash light and running lights...

There is a module under the dash that controls the Daytime Running lights or DRL. It might have something to do with it. You can find some more info here:http://www.chrisnovoa.com/166_camarofirebird-drl-module-color-codes

Also all that lighting goes thru the headlight switch. Try unplugging it and putting the fuse in. If it still blows its probably the module.

SOURCE: 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix -

I can't answer because I have other question open, sorry, but here I send any comments and clues to solve (I hope).

For the FUSE PANEL, location and description, I suggest check the 2000-Pontiac-Grand-Prix-Owners-Manual (page 330 and next). A/C have one "diode". Check it.

About your radio display, sound like a internal problem, keep in mind that the CD is working.

The Security Litgh, its possible that you have any problem with the THEFT system or any aftermark alarm (if you have).

Resetting Oil Service Indicator Lights - Pontiac Grand Prix, 1999-03
Driver Information Center If Equipped). Turn the ignition to ON without starting the engine. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal three times within five seconds. If the CHANGE OIL Soon indicator flashes two times, the system is resetting. Turn the ignition key to OFF, then start the vehicle.
If the CHANGE OIL SOON indicator comes on and stays on, repeat the procedure. To reset the OIL LIFE indictor if equipped with a Trip Computer: Press the trip MODE button until the light appears next to OIL LIFE. Press and hold the trip RESET button until the oil life percentage changes to be 99 percent.

Hope helps (remember rated this).

1998 grand prix what size fuses for rear blinker lights and where is it located

In most autos, there are two fuse panels. One is under the hood with a cover on it, the other is under the dash possibly without a cover. Get real small and crawl under and look above your pedals. It's there!

Daytime running lights won't go on automatically anymore

i have had a few cars that have separate day time and night time lights. check to make sure you have just one or both. next often there is a fuse for both day and night lights. after that things get a little complicated you might have to have the sensor adjusted. that system is great as far as safety is but its a pain some times
