I have a 1998 Grand Prix Daytona 500. The clock will not light up anymore. On a sunny day you can see it is still running but does not light up. Hard to explain. The dealer ship can't find a problem. All the lights on the radio still work. The clock is seperate. Located in the top left of the radio. Any help would be appreciated.
SOURCE: Ignition problem
hey, I had the same problem before, exactly the same thing. I had to replace the ignition switch wiring, not the ignition key cylinder. the wires that go from steering wheel to the bottom near the brake and gas pedals, is not hard to do, I did it myself and the wiring cost 90.00. that fixed my problem, try!!!

The problem is the light bulb behind the screen if you pull the radio out of the dash & pull the radio apart the bulb is right behind the screen with a little work you can get it out, and you can buy it at a pontiac/gm garage. Part # 16208443. Good Luck

There is a module under the dash that controls the Daytime Running lights or DRL. It might have something to do with it. You can find some more info here:http://www.chrisnovoa.com/166_camarofirebird-drl-module-color-codes
Also all that lighting goes thru the headlight switch. Try unplugging it and putting the fuse in. If it still blows its probably the module.

I can't answer because I have other question open, sorry, but here I send any comments and clues to solve (I hope).
For the FUSE PANEL, location and description, I suggest check the 2000-Pontiac-Grand-Prix-Owners-Manual (page 330 and next). A/C have one "diode". Check it.
About your radio display, sound like a internal problem, keep in mind that the CD is working.
The Security Litgh, its possible that you have any problem with the THEFT system or any aftermark alarm (if you have).

I have the same problem, along with the LOC is activated as I had to disconnect the battery. The 800# on an earlier fix is good, but the 206010 comes back as invalid.
