Try removing the negative terminal on your battery for approximately 10 seconds. it works for the check engine light after service, so it just might work for the maint. light as well.

SOURCE: 1992 Jeep Wrangler 2.5L engine maintenance light needs resetting

It's a module under dash programmed to turn on Maintenance light. You can pay $80 to replace module or pull wire going to module and save $80. BTW, it's there to tell you to replace your Oxygen sensor.

SOURCE: "maintenance required" light is stuck on in 1991 Jeep Wrangler

On the dim dashlights, there is usually a rotory switch that you can turn to increase the power to the dash lights. In earlier vehicles it was part of the headlight switch and you just turned it one way or the other to adjust the brightness. In newer vehicles it is a switch like a knob sticking out of the dash on its side that you push up or down to change the brightness of the lamps.

The Maintenance Required light is probable on because the vehicle has hit the 50,000 mile mark and it comes on automatically so that you take the vehicle in for maint. of the emission system. If this is the case there is usually a way to reset it untill another 50,000 miles go by. I would read the owners manual, or better yet pickup a Chilton manual for the vehicle and see if it says how to reset the light. You also may want to have the vehicle checked to see if any trouble codes have been signaled. Good Luck, RAC

SOURCE: replace 1995 jeep wrangler catalytic converter

If it has flanges on both ends, just unbolt it and replace. If it has welded pipes you will need to cut it off and use adapter sleeves and clamps. Really not rocket science...at worst, you may need to remove the hangars on the rear portion of the system to get enough room to install.

Maint req'd light was lit and do not know what is and how to fix

The '91 & newer models turned the maint, req. light on by a timer in the ECU & the ECU turns it on around 120k miles based on a timer and requires a dealer or shop visit to be reset. But it isnt going to hurt anything by being on.

Toyota matrix how do I get the maint required

A plug in computer reader is needed to reset the computer. Did a shop do the work? - they should know better. Take it back and have'em reset it. If you did it, then you could buy the reader (expensive) or go the way of the shop option

How to reset the maint required light on 92 Wrangler

That is a reminder to change your o2 sensors that comes on around 82,000 miles. Check under the dash for a small module about 2" by 1.5" thats semi-transparent and has gears visible inside, pull the plug out of it. If thats not it On the post-Renix and pre-OBD-II XJ's, the "maintenance required" light is driven by the ECU directly. There is NO separate timer like there was on the Renix model. It's designed to come on at 82,500 miles, and basically is an alert to have the O2 sensor changed.

The ONLY way this light can be reset is with the special DRB scanner from Chrysler. The alternative most owners take is to just PULL THE BULB from the warning cluster in the instrument panel.

93 jeep wrangler maint req d means

every 50,000 miles it trips the maintenance required light on,all that happens is you would bring it to the dealer and we would pull it in a bay,and under the dash close to the floorboard behind the brake pedal,is three wires hanging close together, what you did was unhook the two wires that are connected and plug the extra wire in for another 50,000 miles

Maintenance light is on. I was told to disconnect

Maintenance reminder light that's all it is, to reset needs to be done with snap-on scaner or OTC scaner. Most repair shop can do this for you for a small fee.

2005 toyota corolla ce maint. required need to know how to reset.

To reset the system. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position with the odometer reading shown. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position while holding down the trip meter reset knob. Hold down the knob for at least 5 seconds. The odometer indicates "000000" and the light goes off. If the system fails to reset, the light will continue flashing.
