My 1997 Chevy c1500 5.0L misses very bad with loud poping noise coming from underneath truck. This happens only after I drive for about 30 min. And turn off truck and restart. After I start it back up it is pure hell. Like riding a bucking bull! I just had distributed and all ignition tycomponents replaced 4 months ago. Any ideas?

Test that the temperature sending unit in the water system is working properly. When the engine is cold, the computer puts it in cold start mode. Once warmed the temp sensor tells the computer to stop sending excess fuel to the engine and taking the cold start mode to off position. If the sensor is faulty, it stays in cold start mode and keeps dumping excess fuel into the engine causing your situation. Like your running with the choke on after warm-up.

SOURCE: 1989 Chevy Truck 350 Stalled Wont Start After I filled Gas Fuel

You need to check the fuel pressure to the TBI. I just fought one which was doing the same thing. I pulled the fuel tank to replace the fuel pump. It turned out to be the short hose from the fuel pump to the steel line coming out of the tank. It had a split in it so I wasn't getting enough fuel pressure. Some places show two pumps available. One you can pull the unit and replace just the pump. The other the pump and sender are all one unit. Hopefully you have the first one. The second is around $300.

The easiest way to get to the top of the tank is to pull the front 6 bolts mounting the bed and loosen the back two. Take the three screws from the filler neck and unhook the rear axle vent tube. You can then take an engine hoist and lift the front of the box. You can get right to the pump and gauge assemble in the top of the tank. Most times, this works easier than emptying the fuel tank and removing it.

Check the ignition and Engine relay switches located under the hood. Sometimes relays go weak with age and even a bump on the road will shut them off. If you can turn the truck on, take it to Autozone or similar store for a free DTC scan code.

SOURCE: No power up hills and pinging noises come from TBI little back fire.

Sounds like the knock sensor has failed. It's on the passenger side at the bottom of the engine block, in front of the starter. One wire going to it. Have you checked the timing lately, maybe it has moved?

My 1997 Chevy Lumina overheated, I filled it with coolant but now it starts but has a loud tapping noise and is missing? What up?

Irrevocable damage on a vehicle that age. Cracked piston, broken or seized rings, stuck valves, cracked head. damaged bearings. The list is long. The first thing to do is use a stethoscope and trace exactly where the tapping is coming from?

Loud bang coming from front end when i turn the steering

If it happens when you turn while driving, it could be a broken sway bar link. Try to hear if it's coming from the pass. or driver side and check underneath next to the wheel (or just check both). Can be hard to spot sometimes but usually is hanging by one end with hardware missing. Cheap to replace, quick to fix.

I am not sure if the wheel bearing on the front end is broke. it makes a loud poping noise when turning and the wheel is towed in

Loud popping/grinding most noticeably heard when turning is normally a sign of a bad CV joint. Look under the van where the axle half-shafts come out of the transaxle and connect to the backside of the wheel assembly. Are the rubber boots on the axles torn or missing?
If you hear the popping only in left turns, your right CV joint is bad, If you hear the popping only in right turns, your left CV joint is bad.

Strange loud buzzing noise on 1997 Ford Explorer XLT

Only thing that comes to mind with description is maybe heat shield on exhaust, getting loose. Wait until vehicle is cooled off and get under there & check any heat shields you see wrapped around or near exhaust, above it attached to floor of vehicle etc, and give them all a little shake or rap with rubber hammer or similar to see if any rattles are present.

Heater blower makes loud noise

You need to lubricate the 2 bearings on the motor. Takes about 30-50 min to take the area under the hood apart to get to it. It is in the housing underneath the Wiper assembly. Go to benzworld.org or peachparts.com for possibly pictures on how to do that.

1997 chevy cavelier wont move.

Also there is another option and the simplest and easiest to fix check the transmission linkage located underneath the car below the shifter and next to the transmission (if it has 2) there is a U shaped bracket that holds these in place and sometimes it can come loose it is very simple to fix and can be done in 5-10 minutes after you locate it. hope this is it as it doesnt cost anything to fix.
