Runs good untill it gets to operating temp than it kicks bucks and dies have a 104000 on car
Without seeing the vehicle and not seeing a datastream,i would suspect catalytic convertor damage causing restricted exhaust gases or shorted oxygen sensor. Most of the time a shorted oxygen sensor will set an engine code. Catalyst restriction is much harder to diagnose ,but will cause inert exhaust gases to back up into the intake manifold. Inert gases do not contain enough oxygen for complete combustion.

The camshaft may be worn or the lifters .that explains the missing when you run it at operating temp.By the description of the oil. the reasomn the canmshaft wore out and the valve lifters is because the oil was not changed on a regular basis.

I think you have to check and monitor your engine temperature..Has this risen more than half on the indicator and if it stays there and goes further and does not comes back to half way or less then you have few problems..It may be your radiator is blocked and may need replacing or else it may be your thermostat is not good. But you have to be very careful as this may cause the head gasket to blow off and mess the engine.Check if there is lots of water coming out through the exhaust pipe. Also cross check your water level and if you notice it needs refilling quite often then you have a damaged gasket..Hope this helps and leave me a rating..
