What does bank 1 too lean mean on audi 2003 a4

Also yesterday the check engine light flashed 3 times then stayed solid then by this morning the check engine light was off. Is this cause for concern?

oops, it's a 1.8 turbo, automatic transmission. The day before the engine did this I went to my mechanic beause the car seemed to be running rough, sometimes slow acceleration by fine when I get on highway. He checked it and said I may need to replace Mass airflow sensor but he cleaned it instead and told me to drive, for a few days, see if check engine light comes back on. Well it did what I mentioned earlier the very next morning- CEI flashed 3 times when I just started it then went solid and I drove it to work, by the end of the night check engine light went off. The check engine light has been going on and off for the past year and each time I fixed different things: o2 sensor, coolant housing?( i cant remember what its called exactly) ignition coils etc. This car is exhausting! I don't like having car payments but I might as well with this- i spend an average of a few hundred a month on repairs.

    OU!!!
U change the most part of our car!!!!
when u change this thing the mechanic put your car on computer, i mean do some test with computer, because some error of the ecu (Electronic packet of car) need only to clean from the computer and that's all. You have an audi that's not so old to change all this thing you do. But do some research to give exact answer.
An ather question the spare plug you change??
And the problem of slow acceleration one of the problem is bad quality of diesel, the oil filter is change???
Now you have problem with acceleration??

bank 1 means number 1 cylinder. lean means the injector is not properly working.

what kind of engine do you have? if it is the 2.o F.S.I your crank case breather valve can be acting up on you and will cause these concerns. If you have a 1.8t check the wire harness going to you coils look for cracks in your harness the ground wire if you see copper that is you problem will need to get ignition coil wire harness and cut and splice in new wire harness

What does code p1131 mean on a 2001 ford taurus

bank 1 sensor 1 lean code. Check vacuum lines first. Could be egr leak also. Most vacuum lines run on the back side of the engine on these. Most common fail is the PCV 90 degree elbow. On the passenger side.

Code p0171 on an 01 audi a4

Brad, you are not alone. This is a somewhat common problem with this model. The error states a lean condition in the left cyl bank. This however has many possible causes. Please check and read http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?t=2582711

I have a 2003 a4/b6 1.8 turbo and the engine light is on. The DTC codes says random misfire, misfire on cylinder #2 and #3 also, Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Regulation: Bank 1: System too Lean : P1111. Any...

If you can supply me with all the codes your vehicle is showing, I can assist you. As far as the P1111 DTC goes I have listed the info below with some possible solutions.

P1111- Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve Circuit Bank 1

Intake valve timing control solenoid valve is activated by ON/OFF pulse duty (ratio) signals from the ECM. The intake valve timing control solenoid valve changes the oil amount and direction of flow through intake valve timing control unit or stops oil flow. The longer pulse width advances valve angle. The shorter pulse width retards valve angle. When ON and OFF pulse widths become equal, the solenoid valve stops oil pressure flow to fix the intake valve angle at the control position. The code is triggered when an improper voltage is sent to the ECM through intake valve timing control solenoid valve. Since the Intake valve timing control solenoid valve uses oil flow to control timing, dirty oil can cause the valve to stuck open or close. Before replacing the valve, change engine oil and filter and reset engine code.

Possible Causes:
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve bank 1 circuit is open or shorted.
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve bank 1 circuit connectors
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve bank 1
- Dirty Oil

Possible Solutions:
- Change Oil
- Replace Intake valve timing control solenoid valve

My prnd is flashing on and off and the car has no

you have a transmission problem. the tcm has switched to limp mode witch means the trans will start and stay in 2nd or 3rd gear only. this requires a scan tool to properly diagnose the problem. you should get it checked out sooner than later before any further damage is caused by driving it in its limp mode. good luck.

2002 AUDI A4 OIL LIGHT COMES ON AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.

The code system too lean, is caused by the bank 1 02 sensor, as far as the oil light coming on with oil ok,I would say the oil sending unit. Have those checked or replaced. Without testing this and that, it's hard to say what's causing it.
