The center panel display went blank on my 2005 Toyota Avalon and the radio/CD player stopped working. A couple of days later it came back on and started to work again. There must still be a problem but the dealership said it would be hard to determine if it's working. Any suggestions?

Nothing to worry if it has started working... the fault may be with loose contact... which automatically got rectified...!!!!

SOURCE: Toyota Avalon 2000 xls cd player does not work

If you are using "home-made" or "burnt" CDs, this can happen. Sometimes, you can remove the radio from the dash, and unplug it. That may reset the CD player, and the discs will eject.
It works for me about 85% of the time. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem. It is probably the laser reader for the CD player. I took it in to the dealer and was referred to a vender as the warranty had expired. I took it the vender 10 days ago and just had it re-installed today. Works well. BTW, the dealer took it out and send it to another company which repaired it and sent it back.

You need to get that engine light checked out to see if its related or not. The fault is either in your speedometer it self, the wiring, or the speed sensor. Testing them is pretty complicated and do to copy right laws i can not post them but if post your email i can send them to you if you wish.

2005 CTS _ What would cause the audio system CONTROLS, while Driving down the road to quit working, while the system continued to play?

Have to have the factory diagnostic manuals for the answer

That may require a dealer & they will most likely bring someone
in at night to do entertainment/radios etc

I doubt many local shops are up to speed on all those systems
out there & may never care to get involved

There are a thousand makes & models of vehicles now,so your
going to have to cut back & specialize in what you like to work on

I have a 2006 kia Sorento LX with 115,000 miles. I noticed only my right front tire was worn .A couple of days later heard a squealing noise coming from the right tire area.Killed on me while driving 60 on...

the wearing on the tire is a separate problem i would assume it would be the wheel bearing/hub assembly those can go bad simply by hitting a pothole to hard why it wouldn't start is beyond me
