if it is a v-belt set up the alternator power steering pump and maybe the ac can be loosened and they pivot to take the belt off

the vacuum hose should be linked from intake manifold to thebrake booster on brakes as well as to the side of the gearbox onthe vacuum canister. should any one leak there will be a misfire or no vavuum for brakes.

If it's like the S-10 Blazer you don't. It's top mounted to the right of the battery and is four bolts a BFH or pry bar and it's out.
