SOURCE: Remove door trim to install side mirror.

ft door panel has 2 round covers for 2 screws, arm rest has 2 0r 3 screws(ft mid and rear of rest) 2 push in clips on right side of panel, 1 cover for screw middle about 6 inches from bottom. tricky part is door handle bezel. where the inner handle pivots, insert small screwdriver and pry up,it should pop out and do the same for the bottom. p.s. be very cautious with regulator when installing it to motor.if cables come unspooled, your screwed.

SOURCE: Replacing driver side mirror

Take off side door panel, screws securing it are revealed, unscrew screws remove them and and the mirror drops off. If the wing mirror is on the bodywork, then the screws should be either in the wheel arch or under the bonnet.

SOURCE: The internal rear view mirror

I know this post is almost a year old, but I just did this two minutes ago with a mirror from a 99 Avalon and I thought I could help out someone in the future. So...

First, you will need two slotted screwdrivers--one mini and one regular size. On the flat end of the button there is a small slot just left of center. Insert the mini screwdriver into the slot with the flat edge against the bottom of the button. Aim it towards the middle and push back--this releases the clip. Now, while holding the mini screwdriver in place, take the regular screw driver and push/pry from the curved end of the button. The button should slide right out. No problem!

Hyundai TSB 08-BE-012

PROCEDURE:
1. For first time training, press and hold the two outer HomeLink buttons, releasing
only when the HomeLink indicator light begins to flash after 20 seconds.
NOTE: Do not perform this step when training the additional HomeLink buttons.
2. Position the hand-held transmitter 1-3 inches away from the HomeLink mirror,
keeping the HomeLink indicator light in view.
3. Using both hands, simultaneously press and hold both the desired HomeLink button
and the hand held transmitter button.
DO NOT release until the HomeLink indicator light flashes slowly and then rapidly.
When the indicator light flashes rapidly, both buttons may be released. The rapid
flashing indicates successful training and the procedure is complete. This also
indicates that the garage door opener does not use rolling code technology.
Note: The garage door may open or close during this step.
Steps 4 through 7 are only necessary if the HomeLink button appears to be
transmitting after step 3, but the garage door does not operate.
4. Press and hold the trained HomeLink button and observe the indicator light.
If the indicator light is solid/continuous, training is complete and your device should
activate when the HomeLink button is pressed and released.
If the indicator light blinks rapidly for 2 seconds and then turns a solid/continuous light,
proceed with the following training instructions for a rolling code device. A second
person may make the following steps quicker and easier. It is recommended that a
ladder or similar device be used to obtain access to the motor housing. Do not stand
on the vehicle to perform the next steps.
5. At the garage door opener receiver (motor housing) in the garage, locate the “learn”
or “smart” button (usually near the hanging antenna wire attached to the unit). If
there is difficulty locating the training button, refer to the garage door opener’s
manual.
6. Press and release the “learn” or “smart” button (the name and color of the button
may vary by manufacturer).
NOTE: Once the button is pressed, there are 30 seconds in which to initiate the
next step.

7. Return to the vehicle and firmly press and hold the trained HomeLink button for two
seconds and release. Repeat the “press/hold/release” sequence up to 3 times to
complete the training process. If successful, your garage door should open or close
during this step.
If the vehicle owner continues to have difficulty programming their HomeLink mirror,
please have them contact HomeLink customer service directly at 1-800-355-3515 or
www.homelink.com for further assistance.
PROCEDURE COMPLETE

Good luck!

PROGRAM PRIUS GARAGE DOOR HOW DO I PROGRAM THE BUTTONS ON THE PRIUS' REAR VIEW MIRROR TO OPEN THE GARAGE DOOR

There was a minor change for mine to work.. see below..

- you must park your Prius close to the gate opener, leaving it running (obviously not in the way of the gate closing)
- Hold the button the the mirror and then push your garage door remote button and hold until the light on the mirror starts to flasyh fast. THIS programs the button on the mirror, but not the garage opener - yet (this was key for me)
- locate the "learning button" on the opener itself
- press the "learning button" on your gate opener and then get back into the Prius within 30 seconds (more time than it sounds) and press the SAME Homelink button you just programmed above. I don't recall how long I held the pre-programmed button, but the light will flash as I recall.
- Then, when working the garage door, you may need to hold the mirror button for a good second for it to work - but I had tried for months to get mine to work, and finally after reading many posts, the above sequence worked on my 2008 Prius with my Lift Master, Security + rolling codes garage opener.

Just - program the button on the mirror with your remote FIRST.. the garage opener will not work.. then use the Learn button on the garage opener and the SAME BUTTON you just programmed.. and it worked great for me. Not programming the mirror button first will not work. Using only the Learn button will not work. You must program the mirror first with the remote, then use the learn button and the SAME button on the mirror. Hope this helps.

Need to program/link garage door opener with the one on the visor in the car

Depending on the name brand of the garage door opener, there is a button on it you press and you have about 30 seconds to set the button in the car to the signal. Read you car manual on how to set the visor opener, probably press and hold the button in after pressing the button on the garage door opener motor. Get someone to help you in the garage on a ladder. Mine is a Sears and this is how it works.
