I have 2001 s40 volvo the problem is radio.I take it out to clean when I put it back and put the code is not working when I try again flashing ERROR and automaticly turn it off I don't know what to do I need my radio back. Please help me about this.
thank you.
I had the same problem go to your manufact ship list in your car book cover where it said code not in the manual but on a shipping slip in book cover
Same problem with mine, same model etc. If you input code incorrectly 3 times the word 'OFF' appears. Then you need to leave the ignition in the first position with the radio on with the word off appearing for 2 hours. It then asks you for the code again. Ring your volvo dealer and give them your registration plate number. They should have the code on file. They should not charge for this. My problem is that volvo's code that they have stored does not work so i'm waiting for a repair guy to ring me back. Suspect my stereo was 'swapped out' during a service call. Might explain the cd skipping.
Cheers.
You can call the Volvo dealer and give them your vin number and they would give you the sterio code.
If that doesnt work, probly the previus owner changed the sterio, it happens all the time specialy when its young previus owners. Thay intend to put a better sterio and when its time to sell the car they pull it back out and when they go look in the closet for the old original sterio is no longer there.
so they go to the salvage yard to get one with a diffrent code!

My batterey was disconnected and now my radio is calling for a code. Where can i find the code? I bought mine used and the "card" it says it should have in the manual is long gone.
I also put in code then disconnected battery on a 200 S40 and shows error. It will not ask for code. What to do?
