2006 Dodge Charger will not start. I put the key in, turned the ignition, nothing happens

2006' Dodge Charger will not turn on. New Battery, starter tested and passed. Key tested and passed. It has the factory keyless entry. It worked fine prior.

The remote still opens, locks doors, opens trunk. The panic alarm works fine.
Any mobile mechanic recommendations that will come to 77506 area?

This has been an issue with the chargers for a while. The starter relays under the hood panel. Usually start to go and takes 2-10 seconds for the starter to kick in.you can swap the relays for same # ones and try.

SOURCE: 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Keyless Entry/Security System

Your keyless/security system may have been damaged by the spikes. But, assuming you've already checked all the fuses, I would start by having the alternator tested. I would also check the alternator wire connection to the power distribution center (pdc). It can loosen and cause different problems.

Good Luck!

SOURCE: Keyless entry blinks dome light and does nothing else

The remote is fine - your problem is the lock actuators in the doors. They're a bit of a pain to replace - so, you may want to have a professional do it.

SOURCE: SPARK PLUG INSTALLATION ON 2006 DODGE CHARGER 2.7L

In my experience with the 2.7L engine, the spark plugs are located on the top of the engine below the individual ignition coils. The coils are placed between the intake manifold and the valve covers, 3 per side. The coils are held in with "torx" screws. Simply remove the screws, and disconnect the connectors to remove the coils. The spark plugs will be underneath. Be sure to properly gap the spark plugs for maximum life and emissions compliance. Also, an improperly gapped plug can shorten the life of the coil packs.
Hope this helps!

SOURCE: how to program a new remote keyless entry for 2002

1. Press LOCK button 5 times at 2 second intervals to resynchronize remote.
2. Insert key into the ignition switch. Turn ignition to the RUN position (as far as you can
go without cranking engine). Wait for ignition chimes to stop.

3. Using the working remote, press and hold the UNLOCK button on the remote for 4 to 10
seconds.

4. Within the specified 4 to 10 seconds, continue pressing the UNLOCK button and then
press the PANIC button ( on the programmed remote ) for 1 second and release both
buttons. A chime will sound to indicate that the remote programming mode has been
entered ( allow 3 seconds for chime to sound ).

5. Within 30 seconds of the chime, press and release the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons
simultaneously then press and release just the UNLOCK button on the same remote.
A chime will sound indicating the remote has been programmed. Press and release
the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously and then press the UNLOCK button on
each new remote you wish to program at this time. Locks will cycle after each additional
remote is programmed.

6. Turn the ignition OFF and remove key.
7. Test Remotes.

By now, you have probably figured out it is the battery.
They can quit without notice any time.

2006 Ford taurus won't start, starter, altlernator, battery replaced, ignition starter switch, neutral safely switch changed, still nothing

I looked at info for your security system, it is starter motor disable. I didn't see 06 ford Taurus in my database, so I looked at 05.
Battery has a full charge and battery connections all good?
We can usually do some tests to see if starter motor will crank the engine, but, if the security is the problem, it still won't start.
You can check for applicable trouble codes? Try a different key?

My Key to my 2008 Dodge Charger gets stuck & you have to literally yank to get it out & shove to get it in. The ENGINE turns on & off, but the battery won't turn off. all the lights stay on....

Either you have had a new key made and it does not quite fit, or your key is worn, or your ignition tumbler is bad.
In either cases, this vehicle is new enough that your Dodge dealer can assist you in making a new key ect.
Please let me know what you find.

2002 Pontiac Grand prix wont start; unable to remove key

On many cars, if the battery is dead, it locks the key in the ignition. Put a battery charger on the car or replace the battery and give it a shot.

Good luck.
